Located River Oaks District, Loch Bar is a classic seafood tavern featuring one of the area’s largest raw bar and seafood menus. Very nice setting, the food was good a touch expensive maybe. The service was okay but food did not come at the same time. I felt like they tried (polite and obliging) but needed some training (crackers and tobassco are normal with oysters)

This place is very good. Some of the best halibut Ive ever had. Good, friendly service. Live music, nice bar. The menu is a little limited in my opinion but overall very good.

We love Loch Bar, we have never had a less than excellent experience. Their crabcakes are the best, full of nice big lumps and no filler. All the entrees we’ve tried have been yummy. Service is always attentive. Ariana the new manager is super attentive and works hard to make sure the customer experience is excellent.

Poor service, wait staff were not attentive and were never around. Had to use busboys to get plates, etc. Bar service was worse with a more than fifteen minute wait after order was placed. Food was hit or miss with a lack of basic knowledge of dish preparation. The mussels we had were fresh and tasty but other dishes were bland. Manager seemed unable to control staff who were not focused on their assignments. Could not recommend this restaurant to friends. Poor service.

We went to Loch Bar for Happy Hour. The Happy Hour menu is small but it has a number of drinks and bar bites that are quite satisfying. The quality of the food is excellent. I especially loved the Loch hamburger, mussels, and chicken and sausage gumbo. We will definitely go back.

I decided to try this place out for brunch and the menu looked incredible. It’s located in one of my favorite shopping center areas of Houston and I was really looking forward to it. First and foremost they had a great selection of food and everything we had was really good. My only feedback where the grilled oysters were overly cheesy and small, but outside of that everything was incredible. However, the area that they need to work on is the service. Our waitress Forgot several items, took quite a while to get to us, and eventually the manager had to come by and check us out due to the delays. It was not busy at all, which made it all the more odd. Overall, she was very sweet, but not very attentive.

It is rare that you get all of the following in a restaurant - excellent service, excellent food, excellent drinks, excellent music and also made to feel welcome. This was such a case. In addition, the server did an excellent job of helping make my wife’s birthday dinner a special event. Highly recommend this place

Seafood was all great. Crab cakes are still Maryland good. Drinks too. The one star is taken off for dessert (17 layer) kind of dry and not so good. The worst part is being charged for it given it was for my birthday celebration. At least the candle was put in it. Did not sit well with me.

Love Loch Bar but this experience wasn’t as good as my memory. I branched out and had the salmon. It was very dry. Our server didn’t come back until we were finished with our meals and I commented that I couldn’t eat my dinner because it was too dry. The server said oh I’m sorry, but that was virtually the end of the conversation.

First time guest at the recommendation of a friend. Upon arrival the valet concierge greeted us and was a consummate professional. Once we entered the restaurant the hostess had a genuine smile and welcomed us. Our server Christian was very knowledgeable and offered cocktail and dinning selections. We enjoyed the passion fruit infused drinks and the seafood entrees of the blackened redfish and crab cakes were astounding. Highly recommend the Loch Bar for a social outing or more intimate dining experience.

We came here late on a Saturday night. The restaurant was in full swing. I ordered the chicken and sausage gumbo. It was very spicy and not flavorful. The coctail menu is quite limited so it would be nice to expand that. The restaurant was very nice and had music playing. It is open really late which is nice for a weekend spot. They have valet in front for $10. I would try this place again but probably for happy hour.

The were very understaffed, one server for the whole restaurant but he did his best to be personable and attentive with everyone, managment was right in the trenches with him helping when they could. The Oysters were fantastic. I prefered the raw over the grilled. Deviled crab toast, exceptional. Lobster rolls were meh, and the truffle fries were truffle in name only, they weren’t terrible, but not truffle fries. Also enjoyed the little skillet they come in which kept them warm while chatting with friends. It was the perfect conversation food as we ate very slowly, because we really enjoyed just being in the space. The cheesecake was also just OK. Also if I had to add just amazing flatware, the plates are beautiful here. The bathrooms are also clean and well decorated.

Even though we chose to be seated indoors when making our reservation, upon arrival we were told that the restaurant was “overpacked” and were given the option to sit either at the bar or outside. We chose to sit outside, and to be fair, the oysters were amazing. However, the attitude of the staff member who greeted us really put us off, and we weren’t given even a simple apology for the situation. Why have your clients make reservations if you’re still going to end up overpacked, ultimately not being able to fulfill your customers’ requests?

Disappointed to find out Happy Hour is bar only with no seats available, since there is only a handful, but apparently not for all customers in the restaurant when another couple arrived at 6:45p and sat across from us and rushed the waiter to order all their HH appetizers and 4 drinks before 7p. Service was slow, drinks took a while since they were short handed and manager was working bar. Don’t think we will be back - second trip and not worthy of their high prices, could explain the lack of regular customers not in the bar.
