Located in the heart of Marina del Rey, Locanda Positano is a hidden gem in the Los Angeles food scene. Cozy and romantic, this family-owned restaurant serves high-end authentic Italian dishes paired with imported wines hand selected by our sommelier. A few must-try dishes from Chef Michelangelo Pinto's seasonally driven menu include Pappardelle al Cinghiale-- pappardelle with wild boar, Branzino al Livornese, or the Tagliatelle with shaved Italian Black Truffles. Dine under the stars on the private patio for the ultimate al fresco experience or inside surrounded by a rotating collection of artwork from our in-house art gallery and studio.

Love love love the food here! We eaten here on multiple occasions, the food is always phenomenal! We started with Burrata, always a fan favorite. But our most favorite dish is the TAGLIATELLE AL TARTUFO NERO, truffle pasta…we have never been disappointed. The service is excellent and we always feel like family when we come in the door… We love to sit on the back patio as it’s very comfortable with the heaters and fresh LA air…

This restaurant is a gem. Some of the best pasta I have had outside Italy. Highly recommend. It is now my go to restaurant when a memorable meal is required!

A great dinner for 6 of us! My Rigatoni was perfectly cooked, my daughter’s chicken piccata perfect, Amazing tomato soup ! Great Italian bread, with supper balsamic vinegar(best I have had in a restaurant) and olive oil, great desserts, affogato and a wonderful lemon sorbet, beautiful tiramisu. Fun family run restaurant. Indoor or patio dinning! You can’t go wrong! (I am a fifth generation French chef, whose family owned two restaurants, believe me - a real find!)

Locanda Positano is one of our favorite local Italian restaurants. On this particular occasion, it wasn't quite as stellar as usual. The food was good but the restaurant was very quiet (Easter Sunday dinner). As a result, service was a bit lax (non-attentive). I indicated when making the reservation that our group of 6 would be celebrating a birthday. There was no acknowledgement of it, which we found disappointing as we had celebrated a birthday there before. We'll go back, but this meal was not as memorable as we had hoped.

I recommend approaching the restaurant going southbound on Lincoln so that you are on the same side of the street as the restaurant. If you're going northbound on Lincoln, it is near impossible to make the left, especially in traffic. I would call this a neighborhood gem. Great ambience. Both indoor and outdoor dining and nicely decorated. Very nice. In my opinion, a great "first date" place or for special or out-of-town guests. Noise level is low. Great tasting Italian food. This was my first time, but has joined my list of go-to restaurants .

It was New Year’s Eve and they kicked us out at 10:30pm!!! The food was average for what we all ordered. Very disappointing. We paid over $600 mostly food with one bottle of wine. The Reservation was at 9:00pm. This is criminal!!!! Shame on them… so many restaurants in LA. Never going there or recommending Locanda Positano.

Unquestionably the only great restaurant in MDR. Just moved here and have tried all the high end restaurants and this is the only one I’ll go to regularly. The food is fabulous, the service is great and the owner Patrizia is a delight. Try the veal and the gnocchi for certain.

Food and wine still excellent 10 years after we left MDR area. Salad, carbonara, cinghiale, little bomba type dessert i forget the name of... maybe bomba (🙂)! Lights are a bit (a lot) too bright, and I'm one who lives to see my menu without a phone flashlight! But it felt a bit cafeteria-like, so they do need to consider a new overhead design or needs to be some glare cover or dimmer. Service lovely, white wine pairing reco with my carbonara was excellent.

Another fantastic meal! The pastas here are so flavorful. We ordered short rib rigatoni, truffle pasta (absolutely the best), bolognese, filet medallions in red wine reduction mushroom sauce and caprese for a party of 5. We were all very happy with every entree!!

This was the first time we have had a poor experience at LP, after many visits. Starting, the bread seemed stale and lifeless. Our 4 courses were mixed, some good some weak. The service was "disant". He never asked if our food was okay. I had hoped to comment on my main. It was a scallop and shrimp dish. Sadly, there was only one scallop. Really disappointing.
