L'oca D'oro, signifiant "oie d'or" en italien, a été inspiré par le surnom de la fille du chef Tedesco, Lucy Goose. Join Chef Fiore and Reem Assil (California), founder/CEO of Tiny Fish Co., to raise money for Good Work Austin. The GWA Culinary Training Program will recruit and pay trainees from numerous non-profit partners like Foundation Communities, Urban Roots, Settlement Home and more to learn life skills through kitchen and hospitality instruction. All trainees will receive instruction in GWA's commercial kitchen and at various GWA restaurants around Austin and are ultimately guaranteed job interviews at restaurants that pay living wages.

Food was delicious but the service wasn't great. Things took a while, didn't come out together and there were a few mix-ups with what we were supposed to get. They just seemed a little overwhelmed or short-staffed

The cacio de Pepe was dry and didn’t have much sauce. The pancakes were sour and seemed to be made with buckwheat or sourdough. The “syrup” was molasses and not maple syrup leading to an unpleasant at worst and unexpected at best experience with the pancakes.

I'm so sorry and disappointed that you didn't like either the pasta or the pancakes. We can definitely always remake a dish if it's not made correctly or bring out something else that you'd prefer and I'm sorry that we didn't offer that yesterday or find out that you weren't satisfied with what you did order. If you'd like to contact me privately, maybe we can figure out a way to get you in to try our regular menu and see why L'Oca d'Oro has been a special restaurant for so many for the last 8 years. Great service, respectable hand made pasta, nice atmosphere. Tiramisu was not good but otherwise a very pleasant experience.

L'Oca d'Oro really reminded us of our time in North Italy. Simple, traditional, perfectly cooked dishes and Aperol spritzes. Really friendly service. We sat next to a duck who nests outside. Perfetto!

Good, but sad to see Brussels sprouts weren't on the menu. The chicken was subpar, but the pasta was good.

Service was not good. We waited about 10 minutes for water until we asked someone else to bring it to us. The food was mediocre. We had swordfish which was overcooked. Overall a disappointment.

Joe, Please let us know whenever there's something that is not cooked properly or that isn't to your liking for any reason. We are always able to remake a dish or bring you something else that you might prefer. I'm going to look into your reservation and try and determine why we didn't catch that you were not completely happy with what you ordered. I appreciate this feedback. It's always good to be reminded that we need to always be checking back and that we need to let people know that we don't bring water as a rule because Austin is still actually under a water restriction. Food was delicious, but overall the experience was just OK. We usually love sitting at the bar, but this was more like a counter at a cafe (and it's immediately inside the front doors so it was quite breezy). I made reservations and indicated that we were celebrating our anniversary. Not only did it seem like they didn't know we were showing up, they didn't acknowledge the reason for our visit. Quite the opposite experience we had at Eddie V's for a birthday in March.

The food quality is always excellent. They do not serve all the guests at the same time. For a place that prides themselves on a high level of service this is disconcerting. My wife sat for 10 minutes after the entire table had been served. I've worked in restaturants - timing a ticket is the expeditor's job (pass). It was the third time we've celebrated our Anniversary there.

Russell, I'm sorry that this most recent meal was not everything you expected. We should always be letting folks know that dishes will come out as they're ready and to the center of the table as we intend for guests to share. That said, nothing should be 10 minutes behind and we should be following up with you when that happens. If we didn't appropriately set that expecations and then didn't acknkowledge your wait, I apologize and we'll continue to work on reaching that level of consistency. This restaurant has nice outdoor seating, attentive waitstaff, and eclectic food. No traditional Italian dishes available. Pasta is half off from 5-6 everyday. Quantities are small and food comes out one at a time. Recommended 2 dishes per person or one with bread ($10). Pretty pricey, even with the discount. Good for outdoor seating, adventurous eating, and good service. Kids offerings (not on menu) are pasta with marinara and buttered noodles. Half off pasta doesn’t apply to them.

The food is excellent. However, the server told us the food was shareable and served family style. We ordered 2 appetizers and 4 entrees for 6. The food portions are small and I would not consider them shareable. One of the appetizers was 3 meatballs and that was disappointing. Although delicious, not shareable among 6. The food was also super slow coming out of the kitchen. Even if we each ordered an entree, we wouldn’t have eaten together. The manager did come out and apologize but it was a disappointing experience.

Sara, Thanks for letting us know about these issues with how service was communicated to you. It's true that we serve everything to the center of the table to be shared but items are definitely not family sized as you note. We also should be guiding your order (2 orders of meatballs for a party of 6, etc.) and the dishes should all be coming out relatively soon after each other even if they're not all coming to the table at exactly the same time. These are all things we need to constantly pay attention to provide the kind of consistent experience we strive for. Went for Saturday happy hour after a matinee at the Bass. 5-6 pm half price pasta and half price homemade liquor spritzers. Pasta was great and meatballs were amazing. Loved the focaccia bread as well. Love that all the food is fresh and local and servers are compensated automatically but you see it in the prices. you have to be okay with supporting that. Happy hour is a good time to try it out!

We have included a service charge on all checks since we opened in 2016. It is distributed to the entire team to guarantee $15/hr so that no one is paid $2.13/hr and dependent on tips to pay their bills. We promote this on our website, the menu and the receipts to make sure folks aren't surprised. I'm sorry that this surprised you and spoiled your experience. The server was honestly kind of rude? Definitely just perfunctory. The weirdest thing was a a place where paying over $170 total but asking to keep the menu to look at wine is met with a solid “No, I’ll bring it back when you’re ready” and then it was one with stains on it. Other than that it’s fine, the appetizers are good but some of the mains were middling.

What a great evening! We had a reservation and were seated promply. All of the servers who touched our table were very friendly and hospitable. We were there to celebrate an 85th birthday, and the experience was perfect. We shared several delicious appetizers as well as sampled three different pasta dishes...all of which were perfectly seasoned and tasty. We chose L'Oca d'Oro because it is a favorite of the person whose birthday we celebrated...he was also pleased with the experience. We finished the night with tiramisu and pecan pie canoli...also wonderful. We will definitely return to this quaint but bustling little gem!

This restaurant never disappoints. The staff are attentive and helpful, the food is amazing, and the atmosphere is the perfect compliment to it all. Cannot recommend this place enough!

Our team came in for a work event and the restaurant was a recommendation because of its proximity to our hotel. We really enjoyed everything about our dining experience. Our waiter was very friendly and attentive. We tried several dishes and the food was amazing! My favorite was the Rigatoni. Highly recommend.

Good experience overall. Both pastas were very tasty. Server was very knowledgeable. Good teamwork throughout the restaurant. Didn’t love the focaccia. Needs to have more spreadable. Goose served with it. Read the roast of olives dish as olives and salami. It was just roasted olives and potato chips. Not bad, but not what we’re expecting. Overall good experience, and would try it again.

Our party of three had an absolutely dream dinner. Maxwell made our evening so memorable and help us make the very best selections in wine, starters, pasta, desert and digestivo. The food was extraordinary, as always. We can't wait to return for more magic.

L'Oca d'Oro is a favorite! We recommend sitting at the bar, so you can take in all the action. The staff is extremely attentive and cordial, always ready with a great recommendation. The wine list is first rate. Can't get enough of the focaccia - and the carrots were amazing tonight! Don't miss the half-off specials at Happy Hour.

Fantastic, creative menu with super fresh ingredients. Get the focaccia! Behind thew bar, everything but spirits is made in house. Bad a$$, professional bartenders provide excellent service. Tasty, terrific selection of mocktails, too. I love the school night spritz. Get the cannolis! You cannot go wrong at this place.

Coming from Houston, the Central Texas cuisine just doesn’t compare to quality and value. This experience was fine, not great. The staff were all amazing but the food and portions were wanting.

Really disappointing and finally pretty expensive for what it is. I am Italian and the pasta is not...... We had this lamb ribs, just an amount of fat with very little meat

Stefano, I'm sorry that you did not have the experience that we want everyone to have. We are always able to remake a dish or bring something else that would be more to your liking if something is too fatty for instance. I will be looking in to why we weren't able to get you some dishes that you liked but if you'd like to provide some more specifics about when you came in, where you sat that would help us get better. Hope you'll give us another chance. Maybe at Happy Hour when we offer 1/2 price pastas and spritzed every day til 6. Thank you for coming in and for the feedback which we do use to get better. We went there for a meal, and received an experience. It felt like there was a whole family of servers taking care of us. Our wine was delivered to the table with a great explanation of where it came from; it gave us an extra appreciation for it with ever drink. Overall it was a great night and meal. Will definitely be back, with family.

L’Oca d’Oro is always amazing and we love the Paisano series! We also tried one of the house-made Italian sodas, the orange cream one, and it was refreshing and delightful.

It was just okay. Expensive with included gratuity. Pasta was decent, not the best. Mozzarella was meh. Service was poor. It was better before Covid. Will not be returning.

Going to spend at least $200. Very small portions for the price. Drinks were good. Would go back for happy hour but not for dinner

We do try to keep our prices reasonable while making everything in house from sustainably sourced local ingredients and paying our entire team a living wage with benefits.
