Great meal! Don’t mistake the fact that they are in a tourist area for poor quality food and experience. The service was great, the pasta was well made and properly cooked, the sauces were tasty, and the steak was excellent. Definitely worth a stop!

We had an amazing dinner here! The vibe is so fun. The food was DELISH! I had the wild boar pasta and my husband had the Lasagna bolognese. We were very happy! The staff were so friendly and fun to interact with. This is a great spot for a fun dinner

The best meal we had in all of Italy. After two weeks of travel (Venice, Florence, Rome, Amalfi). I had the tortellini and my wife had the bolognese. Very friendly service. We ate at Zaza the night before and both agreed the food was better at Lo Scudo. Cannot recommend enough!

OUTSTANDING experience, BEST steak Florentina I have ever had and PHENOMENAL service! So surprised to find this little gem so close to the Duomo, usually restaurants near big attractions are tourist traps and lacking the service and quality of food. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted warmly and felt like we were in a place where we had been regulars. We then learned that our server was also the her that prepared our fabulous steak. We had Pici al ragout di anatra e cacao magro - florentine spaghetti with duck ragú- this is the best ragú, the combination of flavors are out of this world . The minestrone soup was fresh. Then the steak——- We had the Bistecca alla Fiorentina 28 days Florentine T-bone steak (Porter house) This experience was AWESOME- our server (who is on picture cooking our steak) was so kind explaining the difference of meats and his recommendations. He went to pull a huge rack of meat and right there at everyone’s view he cut our piece to be grilled. The meat tasted so fresh and perfectly cooked. We watched him meticulously cook our steak to perfection. He brought to our table and there he seasoned it to perfection. Meat was tender, so juicy and so flavorful. The service took our experience to the top, from our server to his helpers. They seemed to love their work and were very upbeat and warm. Towards the end when we wanted to pay, they offered us a complementary shot of limoncello- this was delicious and unexpected end to our amazing dinner. We will come back for dinner, next time we are in Florence.

Myself and a group of friends went here on New Year’s Eve. We had a set menu which was absolutely delicious and super great value for money. The servers were all very helpful and friendly. We were not rushed through our meal at all. Would highly recommend!

The “Her Majestic” 60 month aged steak was such a disappointment. Don’t try it. The waiter later gave us a bottle of private labeled house wine, which was nice.

We the spaghetti aglio olio, black squid linguini with clams and Chianina IGP T-Bone Steak Florentine Style with 3 sides. Both pastas were great and the steak was amazing! It was our best meal in Florence. Thanks to the chef for the excellent recommendation on the steak. Price was reasonable for the quality of the food. Highly recommend!

The place was very nice the service and people very friendly. The Gin variety so nice I tasted a rare Japanese gin and served in a very beautiful way. We ordered a few plates to share and several contorni and mains where beef all perfect. Chocolate dessert fantastic

Our Australian friends referred us knowing the chef had been in Sydney and we were treated very well. Loved the non tourist feel. Food was really good and many wines to choose from.

Went to try the Bistecca alla Fiorentina, of course. Got the chianina beef—more specific to that region and more highly prized. Good clean flavor. Sort of lean but really tender. They let us cook it to medium rare. Had giant tortelloni stuffed pasta with black truffle sauce. Just delicious food and wine! They offered limoncello but we declined. They asked “how about melon-cello?” I love anything melon, especially like honeydew or cantaloupe. The drink was divine! Smelled and color of fresh sweet cantaloupe! Had a bit of creaminess and cut on the alcohol burn, but so so good!

The staff were very friendly and helpful. We got the mussels/clams, bistecca, truffle pizza, and several pastas and they were all so delicious!! The truffle pasta and aglio e olio were my favorite! I was also pleasantly surprised at the end of the meal because the cost was not bad at all considering how much we had ordered. Would definitely come back here next time I’m in Florence!
