Located in the heart of Cambridge, opposite the Fitzwilliam Museum, this beautiful gastro-pub boasts historical charm and a delicious menu to complement the surroundings. Dating back 500 years, original features including exposed beams and interconnecting dining rooms are still intact and provide a wonderful setting for guests to enjoy.

The menu boasts expertly prepared gastro-pub style food, made using quality-sourced ingredients including steaks from renowned Scottish butcher John Gilmour, alongside a variety of fresh seafood. Plus a fully stocked bar including a carefully curated wine list and a range of seasonal cocktails.

I had a steak sandwich but the steak was a bit chewy. Service started off well but then we felt a bit forgotten about, it was that busy. Overall quite good

A very enjoyable meal. A wide and varied menu. Good service. Friendly team. Very attentive. Comfortable surroundings. GVFM Recommended. Ideal following a few hours over the road at the Fitzwilliam Museum. Thank you

Staff were lovely however, starter was tepid and I can’t think of much that’s worse than a cold crumpet! Main course burger was very tasty but £17 for a few chips and a burger is excessive. Dessert was good. Overall, I feel everything was overpriced and really not worth it. I won’t be returning.

The wait for our first drinks order was very long and the wait for our food order was also too long. We ordered the mains which was their "special" Halibut with hollandaise sauce and spinach. We did not enjoy the fish which was heavy, unseasoned and boring. My son ordered fish and chips which he said was O.K. My daughter ordered Croque Monsieur which she said was good. The total service was really slow.

Well appointed restaurant, changed layout a bit since I was last there. Food was good quality, service prompt and friendly. We went on a Monday lunch time and the place was not very busy. I wonder if it is better on days when the Fitzwilliam Museum across the road is open (shut on Mondays)
