Little Owl is our favorite place to take out-of-town visitors, for both its food and its location in a charming part of the West Village. Inside can be noisy, and while the outside shed is lacking in charm, it is much quieter and more comfortable--even on chilly days when the fire up the overhead space heaters. The food choices on he menu are varied, and we've yet to have anything but a tasty dish. It's one of our go-to places and one we reccommend to friends.

Ambiance, drinks, and initial service were great… but then we were served effectively raw salmon after specifying for it medium well, asked for it to be cooked some more and it took so long we had time to finish the entire other entree before it came back. Dessert crisp was great though!

I remember my first meal at Little Owl, within the first few months after it opened. Here we are so many years later and the food, ambiance and service remain top notch. Kudos.

Such a cool place with a cool vibe! Service was also awesome. It was not overly impressed with the food. We had the seasonal veggies and the lamb stew which was good but was not that great. Still awesome to visit but feel the food is ok.

Just when I think this place has reached a peak… it gets better. It’s not just the amazing good, or the cozy room, it’s the spirit of ALL the staff who work here. Food is excellent but doesn’t compensate for tight quarters and loud noise level when there’s a larger party despite our early reservation. Pace of meal was very quick.

Great service (Dani) and very good food. Had the beet salad & soft shell crab sandwich which was yummy but a tad spicy. Overall, fun, comfy in the outdoor shed, and very good food.

Whenever we visit New York City this is always on our list Our waitress was informative and conversational. The food was good, pork a little over cooked for my likening but still very tasty.

Little Owl is consistently great. The food is among the best in the West Village, and that’s a real accomplishment! The staff is always friendly and accommodating. Whether you live close by or are visiting from afar this is a must go place

A truly great restaurant, the food is divine, the wine list is great, the service from Adrienne was fantastic. It’s such a shame we couldn’t get a booking until our last night in NYC, I could eat here all the time. Can’t recommend this restaurant highly enough, such a contrast to all the chain restaurants in the tourist areas of the city.

Comforting yet sophisticated food in beautiful cozy setting with friendly service. The food was so good I bought the cookbook and can't wait to try this at home! Duck breast and eggplant parm are first on my list!
