Calamari was amazing, and the combo fried rice is always good. Drinks are a bit overpriced and wine. Pour is not great, so the value is not the best. But overall, it was a pleasant experience.

Excellent food even though it’s a chain, Asian fusion restaurant in Idaho. We had the potstickers, Evil Princess, Walnut Shrimp with the upgraded fried rice, and the banana caramel spring rolls. Husband had their signature Old Fashioned which he really liked. Appetizer, entrees, and dessert were excellent. We ate family style, and they gave us extra plates and serving spoons. Be warned, the portion sizes are large for the entres and dessert we had. We could have just ordered 2 entrees for me, the husband, and our 19 yo daughter. Normally the number of entrees we order is the same as the number of people in our group. The restaurant is really noisy but it is also on the Boise River which has a calming effect. We will definitely go there again.

The menu has something for everyone. The service is always outstanding. The deck with the river view is peaceful. Simply an outstanding dining experience!

Very disappointing experience here. Based on the location and what we saw online (lovely photos of the dishes), we were really looking forward to trying this place out! Unfortunately, other than the very nice space and view of the river, Ling & Louie's was a major letdown. Our server was not the friendliest and when one of our party complained about the scallop dish (it was rubbery and smelled off- and sorry, but if seafood is "off" a diner could end up VERY sick, right?), her attitude went downhill from there. The very nice manager comped the dish and offered to replace it with a soup, but the soup was REALLY salty (and we all sampled it so it wasn't just someone being too picky- it tasted like seawater). Second, the portions were really small for the prices being charged. One of the beef dishes looked like literally half a cup of food swimming in watery sauce and maybe 5-6 little cubes of beef and pieces of uncooked tomato, for $21. The fried rice was $18 and nothing special. The aforementioned seafood entrée was $26. Nothing seemed like it was made fresh but rather reheated from frozen (our food came out in less than 10 minutes which was surprising). This place bills itself as the best Asian food in Boise, which I cannot believe at all. I understand this is a "fusion" place but honestly, there are lots of wonderful Asian places here which are far better quality for the price. I feel like this place does well because of its location (and probably makes a killing from tourists), which is fine if your clientele doesn't know the difference. Again, the manager was very nice and did her best to rectify the situation, and it wasn't her fault, but we won't be going back.

Party of four ate at Ling & Louie's last night. All were happy with food and service. Impressive menu, and impressive view of the river. Too bad we don't have more of that in Boise.

Overall, the service itself was fine. Our server was nice and delivered our food. My rice came after my date's entree arrived. The rice was awful. It was supposed to have been the fried rice and it was as bland as plain white rice. Zero flavor. I didn't eat it. There seemed to be enough staff on hand, which was nice to see.

Beautiful restaurant with great views of the river. Food was fresh & delicious, and the service was excellent. Great place to grab a bite before a show at the Sapphire Room.

The ambiance and food are fantastic. Food was great and good wine selection but the noise was terrible. A table of six could not hear each other at the other end.

Disappointing. Out server was not very attentive at all. This was a special birthday lunch for my son and he got zero attention until I asked if they had any birthday special deserts I could buy. The food was over priced for the portions compared to previous visits to the Meridian location. I work for a restaurant so I understand changing times and escalating food costs, but the customer still needs to feel the meal was of value. Not sure we well go back.

The new Boise location on the greenbelt is AMAZING!!! Friendly staff, and the decor is perfect. The menu is the same at the Meridian location, and just as delicious, maybe even better 😋.

We had family come in from out of town and figured a nice restaurant along the river would be great. Everything was great. I had requested a table by the window and it was really nice. We even arrived early for our reservation and they were able to accommodate us. The food was really good from the appetizer to dessert. Our server was really nice and took great care of us. We will definitely return.

Went here for a Valentine's Day dinner. Food was outstanding. Server (Kriss) did an excellent job. Only had issue with ambience. It felt dated. Old. The decor/ambience didn't match the quality of the food. Would not choose it again for a special occasion but WOULD go back for the food. Maybe takeout.

Overall it was acceptable. It just did not live up to the hype. The restaurant was dirty and it was just regular Chinese/Japanese food.

Went for Lunar New Year specials. Please, why is it always such an issue to get the correct menu and servers familiar with it? You do a great job with it: tastes great, beautiful presentation, and for 5 years it has been difficult to get paper menus!

I don’t usually eat at chain restaurants. Typically I find the food mediocre. I have to say ling and Louie dynamite roll is outstanding, very generous piece of yellowtail, and one of the better roles I’ve had in a long time.

We have enjoyed Ling and Louies for many years. There new location in Boise is wonderful. Rex and crew have done a great job in remodeling this spot. Food is excellent. Crab wontons as an appetizer are a must for us. Have had many different items from the menu and never was disappointed. Surprisingly the meat loaf is amazing, always a good choice. Highly recommend. Service is always great and friendly.

They were wonderful at accommodating our need for a quiet table for our autistic guest and put us in their enclosed party room which made an amazing experience for us. Our server, Tiffany, was attentive and kind and took great care of us! Overall was a perfect birthday dinner for my daughter. Thank you!
