All was great. Nosier than I thought it would be especially in bar. A little chilly on patio but heaters helped!! Service was great, Lexi was wonderful and took care of us!! All in all it was a a beautiful evening!!

Our Server was totally not on her game. She forgot to tell us about the specials. We had to ask her twice to get a heater turned on next to a table and she still didn’t get it done. Ultimately, we had to go up to the hostess stand and asked for heat. And finally after she took our order, she left menus all over the table. We’ve had much better experiences at Lillian’s and I was disappointed that we took our friends there and this waitress was just not ready for prime time.

Food and service very good. Expensive. Three recommendations: 1. Serve everyone at once. We had a table for four: two kitchen trips should not happen. 2. We should not have had to ask for serving spoons for the shared side dishes. 3. Add sound absorbing panels - noise level too high.

It’s our 3rd time eating here and as a local it’s so nice to have such a lovely restaurant nearby. The service is attentive and the ambiance slightly lively but in a good way. The tuna tartare appetizer was out of this world and the scallops are fabulous. The only disappointment was the whole lobster. It was dry and hard to remove the meat and quite messy. Indoors is pleasant with dress being nice casual and the outdoor patio is lovely and serene by sitting facing the main lawn and flowers. We can highly recommend Lillian’s dining gem in RSF.

Fabulous special occasion location! We celebrated a quiet 22nd Birthday in style! The ambience, drinks, and food were perfect to feel elegant and charmed on this memorable date!

My wife’s pair salad was good, her entree veal Milanese was marginal, it was salty and dry. My Caesar salad was weird, it came out with 1/4” of grated Parmesan cheese, so it was completely white, you couldn’t even see the lettuce. My entree, the salmon was good. My friend had a tuna tartare appetizer that she sent back because the chilli oil was too spicy, although I tasted it and liked it. The waitress brought out a complimentary desert, which were 5 mini donut type pastries and three dipping sauces, which were very tasty. So overall just ok, nothing horrible but also nothing to compel you to make this a go to spot. The ambiance is nice, retro Rancho Santa Fe from the 1920’s, so that’s nice. Service was attentive, but we were one of only 2 indoor tables on a Sunday night, so hard to say what it would be like on a busy night.

Gave this place a couple of chances to make sure the first time wasn’t a fluke. Unfortunately, the second visit was just as disappointing as the first time. Super slow service: inefficient and painfully slow that even the most basic things such as getting our drink orders took half an hour to even get to us. Food is also mediocre and very forgettable. It’s too bad. We were super excited for the renovation and the updates but having a pretty ambience can only get you so far.

Since the remodel, we have been to Lillian's about 4 times for dinner. I don't think we will be back. While the new decor and ambience is lovely in the main dining room - the food is just not that great for the price. We each had a ribeye steak - and while it was cooked to the correct temperature, it was smothered with a giant mound of parsley and whipped butter (why?) with no char or flavor. It looks like the steak was done in a sous vide, then put on the grill for 5 seconds just to get a couple grill lines on it. Just bad. For the price, you expect a better steak. On a previous visit, I had tried the veal milanese. It was very oddly prepared - a very thick cut, which made the meat hard to cut and very tough. Every other time I've had veal milanese elsewhere - it is typically prepared as a very thin cutlet. I asked the waitress this time if that is always how the veal is prepared (a very thick steak-like breaded cutlet) and she verified that yes, this is how they serve theirs at Lillian's. Another time we were at Lilian's in the bar area it was taking forever to get a bottle of wine. We were told by the waitress that "only the manager has the key to the wine cellar because one of them had lost the other key - so they have to wait for him to get the bottle". Not sure if that was an excuse or true - but wow what a way to run a business! Too bad because the location is great.
