Lilac is a modern Mediterranean restaurant helmed by Michelin-starred chef and California native, John Fraser. Lilac exclusively offers a 4-course prix fixe menu featuring signature elements of Chef Fraser's mastery of Mediterranean cuisine explored through the lens of Floridian coastal produce. Open for dinner Tuesday through Saturday, the dining room’s walnut flooring and the warm glow from the pendant globes create an elevated, convivial space focused around an eight-seat Christian Liaigre chef’s counter in sandblasted walnut and a lively open kitchen. Taking its cues from Fraser’s Greek heritage and his admiration of Turkish cuisine, Lilac’s balanced menu is a celebration of the chef’s vegetable-forward philosophy using fresh, seasonal, and locally sourced ingredients.

Service was excellent and food was great, but the physical space left much to be desired. Very tight spacing in the two-top table section. I had to move the table over to one side to be able to sit (I'm tall), same to get out. Guy behind me banged his chair into mine when he was getting up. If u go, insist on one of the booths (there are only 6). If you're under 5'10", I imagine this won't affect you as much.

The food was very good! and the value was good. The service was up and down. Long pauses of little attention and then times of very attentive. But the timing of the meal overall was fine.

Everything was absolutely outstanding! I have been to some great restaurants (never Michelin star until now), but wow were my expectations still blown out of the water. The food was absolute perfection, but the service truly wowed me, every one of the staff members was so kind and just went above and beyond.

Unique experience. Great food in a perfectly casual but elegant setting. I can not find fault. Adventurous menu married with flavors that reminded me of home cooked. .. but with artistic thoughtfulness…. Yummy from start to finish. And the wines! 🥰

Sublime meal and attentive service. The appetizers were delectable. The seared scallop was a heavenly combination of flavors. The king salmon entree was prepared to perfection.

Just what you should expect from a Michelin star restaurant: great food, impeccable service and knowledgeable staff Unfortunately , the night we went, thev Tampa Bay Bolts won a crucial game against the Panthers, so the atmosphere was very chaotic AND because it was an “event” night we paid $43 plus tip to park!

The food was very god, but the service was just eh and it wasn’t worth the price tag. We’ve been just as impressed with the food at other places around Tampa, and far more impressed with the service.

From the moment we arrived the entire experience was “off the charts” fabulous!!!! Each and every staff member were so very engaging and attentive. Jeremy and Liz took care of every minor detail that made the whole evening truly special 🤗

Overall excellent experience. Service was top notch. Everyone was knowledgeable regarding the dishes. Trinity was excellent with her suggestions and attention. We had a great anniversary. Food was delicious. Caviar was delicious. I recommend this restaurant.

Lilac definitely has a dazzling ambiance and exceptional customer service. Noise level was way too loud, too many people at the bar near the dinner tables. Drinks were strongly poured and worth their price. The four course dinner was overall delicious. However, NOT worth the price. Can't justify the price.

We have dined all over the world and try to experience a Michelin star chef in each major city we travel to. So when our hometown finally got a Michelin guide and Forbes rated Lilac in the top 100 in the US we knew we had to try it. It is worth noting here that Lilac does have a Michelin star award for service, which was phenomenal. However that was the only thing above mediocre in the entire experience (or lack there of.) We entered The Edition through the main lobby doors. The lobby is filled with "Gram" worthy photo moments but not great signage so we thought we were headed up and boarded the elevator. Upon arrival we realized Lilac was not the same rooftop we all thought it was in fact it is located on the ground floor behind the lobby bar. We were greeted and seated immediately upon arrival. The dining room is small, tight even, considering they prepare a few things tableside. From where we sat you could see the lobby bar which was responsible for a small specialty cocktail list, and even shorter wine by the glass selection, with a very limited list of higher-end spirits. (Timpano in Hyde Park has a separate beverage manager and an impressive spirit offering, Rocca also has an extensive list.) This wasn't a deal breaker but a disappointment for sure. Overall the experience was just a miss, they offered no warm towel, the meal took 3 hours, and the Mediterranean just never showed up to the party. It was like the whole menu had an identity crisis, the food was good but not crave able, oddly American without much experimentation. There are several restaurants more enjoyable at or below this price point in Tampa. Michelin star or not we won't be circling back and we definitely won't be recommending others do.

The experience was on par with a Michelin star restaurant. The staff is excellent, friendly, competent, attentive. The food was excellent. We will return.

Pretty pricey since it’s a four course meal and Michelin star so definitely a special occasion spot but the experience was great. Drinks and food were fantastic and well portioned so you actually make it to dessert. Place was beautiful, staff was warm and attentive. Went to celebrate my anniversary and was not disappointed.

We had high expectations for this restaurant since it has a Michelin star but were disappointed. We waited 45 minutes for our first drink and it went downhill from there. The food was hit and miss and way overpriced. I will not go back nor will I recommend it to anyone else. They should consider discontinuing the pre fixe menu and let people order what they want at a more reasonable price. I would also remove the Michelin star. Very disappointing.

Not going back. I was excited to try but for the price point was a major disappointment. Seating is odd and cramped. As others have said, it’s in the hotel lobby. Off to the side in a very nice lobby but honestly felt like an after thought. Service was oddly slow. Food was nothing special. Grating a carrot and putting it into a lettuce leaf? Best thing I ate was the bread. The whole evening was a very expensive miss.

Truly, this restaurant is an embarrassment to the Michelin ranking system. This restaurant is located in the main hotel lobby and probably shares a kitchen and definitely shares a bar with everybody else eating in the lobby and is simply separated by Plants. The restaurant was nearly empty with only four seats of 14 tables being filled. The food was pedestrian at best and truly the Michelin guy needs to reevaluate how this restaurant could even have gotten considered. There is absolutely nothing I would recommend about this restaurant

The food was inventive and delicious - things I wouldn’t have otherwise tasted were spectacular. Highlights were the truffle pasta, tuna tartar, and swordfish. The service was impeccable and the sommelier’s recommendation was on point. We had a great experience.

Hors d’oeuvres for table were savory and delicious. Truffle pasta a winner. All entrees - swordfish, lamb and short ribs - were fabulous and served with great accompaniments and displayed beautifully. Chocolate soufflé for 2 was a perfect ending. Highly recommend!

Great good, deserts were excellent, service is good The only issue was that I asked if I could sit on more comfortable seats in a booth, but was told it’s not available for 2 people as they were for parties of 3 or more. However two other parties of 2 people came later and sat in those places. It’s disappointing that they could not accommodate me but were able to do it for others. Don’t expect that with a Michelin rated restaurant.
