We sat outside because it was noisy inside even during not too crowded lunch time. The service was very good but the courses came a bit fast. However we were not rushed and spent time talking after the meal. The food was very tasty.

Classic French bistro in a comfortable, welcoming setting. We usually avoid Mother's Day brunch, but they did it just right! Good food, we weren't rushed.

My Branzino was super small for $32. Out server basically grew the menu at us and the service continued that way. She was not a happy server.

Dined this time in a party of 6. As usual, I enjoyed the eggs benedict, as did one other in our group. Another had the pancakes, and others had egg dishes - everyone in agreement: delicious! It’s always noisy, no matter how busy the restaurant, but everyone enjoyed the overall experience. Our service person was very appropriately friendly and efficient. She even took time to take our group photo - much appreciated. Thanks again, L’Express!

L'Express consistently delivers delicious food in a comfortable setting. The servers are attentive and pleasant. The tables are well spaced so you don't feel cramped.

The food is delicious — we had steak frites and the porkchop. Both were first rate, as were the onion soup and the chocolate cale. The service is friendly and efficient, the prices are reasonable (especially for Manhattan) and the atmosphere is lively and congenial. Highly recommended.

Fresh food, with excellent service by Lily. My friend and I ate outside. It was very pleasant. Food is consistently tasty and service efficient and friendly. Its a wonderful neighborhood restaurant.

A fav for lunch with friends and family. During the week it is a easy to linger over coffee and enjoy a leisurely lunch feeling just like your in Paris.

We had a lovely lunch and sat for a long time - we never felt rushed and the service was impeccable. Definitely a great spot for good food and drinks with the feel of a French brasserie.

This used to be one of my favourite places to go to. The food and service are still very good. However, for some reason, they have added waaaaay too many tables inside. You can't even get into the chairs because you are just so close to the next table. I arrived early and could not get into my seat. I was given another table. While waiting for my friends, another party came in and they, too, had to be seated elsewhere because they could not get into their table. This was absurd. By the time my friends arrived they could not get into the table where I was sitting. Thankfully, the weather was beautiful so we asked if they would open up the outside and they obliged. Thank God!! Needed to get out of that restaurant. Will definitely return to L'Express but only if we can be seated outside.

always a treat coming here for bistro-like ambiance, the delicious and varied food and the wines by the glass. if I lived closer, I'd be here more often.

Good service our order was delivered quickly and food temp was hot. But I won’t order the fried artichokes. You just get five small pieces for $17

An obscene waste of time and money. We sat for a 6:15 reservation and got our food at 7:05PM - we ordered no drinks or appetizers, just entrees. I sat with an empty water glass as waiters milled around pretending to look busy and didn't get my first cup filled until I had already finished my food. We scarfed our entrees down in 15 minutes so we could make a movie showing, asked for the check when our food finally came so that we could get out of there, and then had to ask for the check again, because they forgot. We had a 7-person party, for which gratuity was already included. Nonetheless, our waiter stood over my shoulder and watched me take my phone out and calculate an additional 20% tip without having the decency to point out that the tip had already been included, meaning that they received a 40% tip for all of this atrocious service.

Picked the restaurant randomly and could not have been more pleased. Server was happy and professional. Food was delicious! Artichoke appetizer was amazing and my husband thought the French onion soup was the best he’s had in NY. Entrees were great. All around A+

Brunch today (3/3/24) was terrible. Had reserved an outdoor table but when we arrived, we were told none were available. Inside seating was cramped, with tables inches apart. Food took forever to arrive and when it did, it was cold. Service was horrible. Inattentive server who didn't check on our table. To top it off, we were charged for food we did not order. We used to really like this place. Hope this isn’t their new normal.

Good food and drinks but it was the loudest restaurant we have ever been to for brunch. Also cocktails were $18 and not very big.

We've been here several times. Has a traditional French bistro atmosphere. First time I've had the onion soup-excellent. My husband had the merguez sausage with moroccan carrots. He also had the short rib bourgunion. I had the steak frites but the steak was not tender- had to chew excessively. Regardless, portions are large- we took most of the meat home.

Really enjoyed our visit to L'Express. Great place with good service. Sneaky good wine list. Spend a few minutes with Google to make sure you are getting a good value. Food tasted great, but the fish portions were small for what they were. Would go back again for sure.

Dinner itself was delicious from entree to main course to dessert. We love the vibe of L'Express. While noisy/energetic, it's exciting and seemingly very French. The tables are a bit too close but who can blame them? The portions are a bit small and while the flourless chocolate cake was sensational, we ran out of ice cream before cake and it was needed. A bit larger scooper is in order but overall, it was excellent. Thank you.

We spent our evening at this amazing place! Our server Maria was amazing! Perfect service! We chose Salmon and Tuna Tartare as appetizers! They were tasty. But they are also pricey, comparing portion sizes to main dishes. I would not order them again. As a main dish, we ordered Branzino and Trout. They were delicious! Veggies on the sides, were so yammy! I would definitely come back again to this place!
