Letena is a farm-to-table Ethiopian restaurant serving dishes made with natural, premium ingredients. Located in the heart of Columbia Heights, Washington DC, Letena is a family-owned destination centered around authentic, quality Ethiopian food.
Owner Yamrot Ezineh opened Letena’s doors in October 2016. Yamrot and her team love welcoming new and old friends to enjoy Letena’s delicious, fresh food. Their goal is to make the unique experience of Ethiopian food approachable for everyone, from vegetarians and vegans to meat-lovers alike.
Letena’s original Ethiopian dishes have won accolades from various publications and review platforms including Food Network, Washingtonian, TripAdvisor, and Yelp.

Leens is a family run restaurant and the owners are very friendly and welcoming. The food was delicious! I highly recommend this restaurant

An absolutely delightful and delicious experience. Every item in the meat sampler we selected was absolutely incredible. The samosas were crispy and beyond flavorful. The iced tea was perfection. Staff was extremely kind and helpful. The wine selection was very reasonable. I can’t recommend this restaurant enough.

We wanted a restaurant where we could have great conversation over great food, and we certainly found it! Maybe the best Ethiopian food in DC, and the staff were thoughtful and gracious.

Food excellent portions were good. Nice decorations… highly recommend the cozy side room…. Feels more like being in a nice Ethiopian home with the decor…. Less like a restaurant

Good experience. Friendly service, although it was a tad slow. That said, I think they are more laid back here, they don't rush you at all.

This was the first experience with Ethiopian food for my Fiancé and I and we both really enjoyed it with Latena. We ordered a Veggie and Meat sampler with Samosas and it was a great portion of food, and we were hungry too! The spice blends were fantastic and we cannot wait to go back. Highly recommend.

We’ve been to this place 3 times in the last couple of months. Great atmosphere and the food is amazing. Staff is friendly and the place is clean. Of love or like Ethiopian it is absolutely a great choice!
