I cannot rate anything as good or even adequate, as my daughter and I arrived for our reservations a bit before 11. The front door was locked but we thought perhaps they just hadn't unlocked the doors yet because they were open 11 am to 2 pm per both their website and the phone message if you call them.
We continued to wait and several more people, who did not have reservations showed up. While we were all out on the porch chatting, a mentally ill man came up and started harassing us (he had previously tried to get two of the ladies into his vehicle while they were on a short walk to pass time as they had been hoping the mansion would open a bit later). The police were called and the guy drove off but then he came back. The two females took off running and the rest of us had to call the police yet again as this man was hiding behind a tree in the yard and taking video or pictures of us and then started to walk towards us. Since were were all away from home and outdoors we went in the opposite direction of our vehicles (since that is where he was coming from).
By the time the police showed up and everyone explained their stories it was sometime around noon before we were police-escorted to our cars since no one felt safe. I had purchased a Groupon so our brunch had already been paid for. Unfortunately, my daughter will not return to this town, let alone this mansion for any reason after the terrifying events we experienced.
I had called a couple of times while we were waiting as well and my daughter emailed the owner and neither of us has yet had a response as to why they did not open apparently at all that day. I would hope if it was some unforeseen circumstance that someone would have emailed or called to explain the situation. I would still be willing to go back to try their brunch if I knew I could use my Groupon and if I knew for sure they would be open because both of us had driven an hour to meet here and wasted our time and gas to do so.
