We have owned an apartment at the Vintage Grand Mercure for 12 years. Over this time we have dined at Legends many times with varying levels of satisfaction. 3 of us dined there last night & were amazed at how good the food & service was. We were not expecting great things but have to say we were extremely impressed. Congratulations to the staff that served us & congratulations to the Chef. Highly recommended ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

The food was amazing. We had dinner at Legends twice and each time we were treated with exceptional service. Our waitress Mel was incredibly professional with a friendly engaging manner. Would certainly dine there again.

Overall It was a beautiful meal. I had the chicken and this was a little dry. Thank God for the Red Wine jus….. My Husband had the Blue Eyed Cod, the flavour was sensational. If only there was a few little sides to bolster the meal. Desert was exceptional, especially accompanied with a Salted Caramel Espresso Martini 😍 Strongly recommend

After researching this venue we thought it was fine dining. However the atmosphere was terrible, bright lights and noisy. The food was good but I wouldn't dine here again as there are may better options in the Hunter.

Pork belly entree was very fatty. No crispy crackling. Main course slow cooked lamb was as tough as old boots. Filet mignon. Not like I have had before elsewhere. Potatoes undercooked and meat overcooked for medium. Lamb was replaced with duck. Very strong sauce. Duck well cooked.

I was disappointed with my meal of pork entree and duck for main. Pork was not crispy and duck was dry however my dessert was sensational - poached pear.

We ordered 2 servings of the scallops and althought the 3 small scallops were cooked well, the peas the couple of peas that were in there were just chucked in and out of place, the sundried tomatoes didn't tie in, didn't compliment the dish in any way, and the sauce was no use as we wished we had a spoon for it but we couldn't get it with out knife and fork, so pointless having the soupy sauce there. Mushrooms side said a melody of 3 kinds of mushrooms as we really got was a bowl full of button mushrooms. We even asked the waitress about it and she couldn't really help us. We wouldn't have got the dish it it was just the bland button mushrooms we get commonly. Also the potato puree was in a 5cm diameter tiny plate, one full tablespoon for each my husband and i. We go out to restaurants couple of times a week and we order potato mash and puree often however never have seen such a small serving size. We come to Hunter Valley often at least once in 6mths and sometimes we bring family and friends with us, we always recommend restaurants however i dont think we will be back at this restaurant. Very disappointed, Nothing stood out in a good way.

I would highly recommend coming to this beautiful restaurant for a lovely meal. The staff are lovely, the food and drinks are divine and the view is stunning. My partner and I have had a wonderful time dining at The Legends Grill!

My Bolognese Pappardelle while very tasty but could have been served hotter, my husband said his Black Angus Scotch Fillet was exceptionally good with the highlight of the night for us being our waitress - a Serbian girl whose name started with a B - she was delightful and knew all about service - something we find lacking in many of our dining experiences these days. Overall, a lovely dining experience and one we will look forward to next time we are staying at Chaeau Elan.

We had my birthday dinner there last night, the dinner was amazing! We were so pleased with our dinners, the steaks were cooked at perfection!! The desserts didn’t turn out the way we expected it and we all couldn’t eat it ( lovely manager refunded all our desserts as we didn’t touch it ) the dinner is amazing and highly would go back! Thank you for making my birthday dinner amazing night

I was disappointed with my main meal. I know Orange Roughy is not a cheap fish but my fillet was very small and not as succulent as it should have been. The carrot side dish we had was also underwhelming. My partner did enjoy his steak and the wines were had were good and well priced. The wait staff were excellent.

We found it hard to locate in the dark. Ended up crossing grassy hills and almost joined a wedding! Make it easier for your guests! Add more directional signage. Even once we entered the building it felt depressing. Firstly, the staff were lovely; attentive, professional and friendly. The atmosphere needs fresh life breathed into it. ASAP. The table was wonky, the menu text formatting and alignment was awful. I recommend adding some external lights to give the diners something to gaze out at, potentially lighting up parts of the garden. Interior mood lighting could be added, working with some colour. Add some sexier music, a little louder. Food was really good, with generous servings. Perhaps a little expensive in comparison to other comporable restaurants. Overall I think I would return, but not as my first choice. Perhaps some additional marketing upon check in to entice me to dine on-site.

The food was quite good, the lamb was cooked well but the scallops were rather tough. It was disappointing that the chairs were very shoddy, the seats torn and peeling. Definitely a refurb is needed. Service was good.
