Le plat signature du Legal Sea Foods est composé de poisson très frais. Seafood Nation apprécie cet avant-poste à Peabody, à la jonction entre les Routes 128 et 114. Si vous voyagez depuis ou à destination des plages de Cape Ann, il est fort probable que vous renonciez à votre sortie pour déguster du poisson frais. Ceux et celles qui envisageraient au contraire de partir à la pêche, pourraient aussi revoir leurs plans et s'arrêter au restaurant à la place. Le Legal Sea Foods a depuis longtemps prouvé qu'une expérience culinaire cohérente et de haute qualité ne passe jamais de mode. Avec plus de 40 sortes de poissons et fruits de mer frais, servis tout au long de l'année, ainsi qu'une carte des vins médaillés, il n'est pas étonnant que tant de fidèles aient mordu à l'hameçon ! L'établissement a été maintes fois reconnu, notamment comme le « Meilleur Restaurant de Fruits de Mer » (USA Today, 2013), le « Restaurant le Plus Populaire de Boston » (Zagat, 2012/2013), le « Meilleur Restaurant de Fruits de Mer » (Improper Bostonian, 2010) et la « Meilleure Chaudrée » (Boston Magazine, 2010). Le restaurant a aussi l'honneur de présenter sa légendaire chaudrée de palourdes de Nouvelle-Angleterre à chaque inauguration présidentielle depuis 1981.

    This visit was a disaster. We ordered an appetizer and it took forever to come. When it came out, they told my wife they ran out of swordfish and she had to pick another main course. Two minutes later, before we ate the appetizer, my meal came out. We complained and the manager came over. They comped us the appetizer and a half bottle of wine, and made my dinner over so that it came out with my wife's.

    There must've been a breakdown with the kitchen staff because our reservation was for 6:15 and we didn't get our food until 8 pm. We never got our fresh bread, and it took a while just to get the fresh oysters to the table. My eldest daughter ended up leaving to make it to work by 8 pm. She left without eating, and we ended up bagging her fried clams. We all know that reheated fried seafood is not the greatest, so she ended up not enjoying her meal. It was a horrible Mother's Day meal. It was rather loud, and we couldn't hear the people on the otherwise of our booth.

    Maybe because it was Mother’s Day, but the food was very slow and was cold when we received it. I’ve had the bacon there many times and this one was very flavorless, We’ve been to Legals many times, but this was a very poor showing by them

    Took my mother and father there for Mother's Day. Everything started out great. Waitress was pleasant took our appetizer orders and they arrived at reasonable time and were delicious. However the entrees didn't come for at least 35 to 40 minutes after we had already finished the apps. I don't know what the breakdown in the kitchen was but from my viewpoint I saw a ready burger sitting under a heat lamp for no less than 10 minutes untouched. By the time our food arrived I was a bit annoyed. Luckily the baked Haddock and Grilled Rainbow trout dishes were ok. Unfortunately the fried whole belly clams my father ordered were extremely disappointing. the bellies were tiny and way over done. I tried one and it was leather tough. Very misleading. To use whole belly clams as a selling point at 39 dollars a plate and then have practically no bellies on them making them glorified clam strips is beneath this establishment I would think. I've been to sub shops with a better fried clam offering. I understand it was Mother's day but for an establishment that wants to be considered fine dining. I felt the whole experience was a pub food restaurant level at best.

    Ate outside as it was a nice day and they have a small patio planted with flowers. Not too much passing traffic. Food was tasty - prices have gone up quite a bit since the last time I ate there but quality is always good.

    We had swordfish and cod from the test kitchen menu, and both were delicious. The firecracker sushi roll was excellent, too.
