I made a reservation for 6:30, but we arrived at the restaurant an hour earlier because it was raining and my family was tired from walking around the city. The restaurant staff showed flexibility by allowing us to be seated 30 minutes before our reservation time. Our waiter was attentive, making sure we were happy with our food and the service.

Great restaurant but more importantly, our server Ricky knew everything and was able to give us great recommendations. The oysters were fresh and better with wine vinegar sauce and not overpowered by the cocktail sauce. The lobster was great and the sides, especially the curried vegatables, were amazing. Loved the limoncello crème brule but was eyeing my father-in-law’s flourless tort. Highly recommend the Long Wharf location.

Lobster was small. Steak was good. Sides were unusual. Service was good. Overall it was just ok. We should have listened to the locals.

Great location for our Mother's Day celebration. Views of the water were beautiful! For a busy day, everything flowed smoothly. There was a mixup with how we ordered our steaks but it was rectified quickly and satisfactorily.

This was the worst experience of food I've ever had. Sushi was barely edible. Cioppino was terrible. Overcooked andInedible. Unedible. Yellowfin Tuna bowl was loaded with salt. Unedible.

The food was great but the service made the experience bad. Our appetizers came out with our dinner, I could not get a glass of water after asking multiple times. When my lobster arrived they did not bring the tools to crack the shells therefore I could mot eat it and it got cold. I ended up going to the hostess stand to ask for these things after waiting for almost 10 minutes. The food was great but it was overshadowed by the bad service unfortunately.

Our food was just not great. We ordered the crab cake combo which was $45 and not good at all. The crab cake was under cooked, lukewarm and mushy. The scallops and shrimp were fine by not hot. We also ordered a firecracker roll. The fish did not seem fresh and we were very disappointed. Our server was attentive and gave good service.This restaurant does not live up to its hype.

Legal Seafood was trading on its past reputation, and not on current quality. The server was more of a salesperson than a waiter. The host tired to put us at a highboy when plenty of tables and booths were open. The crab cake was clearly undercooked, raw and soupy in the center, and not evenly done. The brocolli (as a side) was flamed to provide the appearance of being cooked (or at least warmed) but were functionally raw/undercooked. A $200 meal for 2 should be far better than this. I'm embarrassed for them - a former shell of themselves where its clear no one is really paying attention to quality control, but more so for myself and my fellow diners for being so underwhelmed by the experience and trying Legal because everyone in Boston told us we have to try it.

I wanted to take a friend from out of town here for her first lobster roll. I (annoyingly) have a shellfish allergy, but they were able to accommodate and not make me feel uncomfortable.

This was our second visit to this location during our stay in Boston. We enjoyed the Lobster Bisque and blackened scallops and shrimp. The seafood was delicious, and the service was prompt but not rushed.

Excellent Clam Chowder that was full of clams and lives up to the presidential inauguration hype. Also had the warm lobster roll which was a ton of meat on a deliciously toasted bun. I requested a side of melted butter for an additional drizzle option. Sandwich was very filling. The local oysters are very fresh. Price was a little high but it was expected for the quality of seafood that is being served at this waterfront location. Antonio was our server and was very friendly and attentive (first week on the job).

Chowder with fresh rolls was so good. Great view of the water. Shared the fish sandwich with fries and coleslaw. They split it on two plates which was very kind. It was all absolutely yummy! Great service.

Rosie was our server and was prompt in taking our order, bringing our wine, making sure we had dinner rolls, and checking on us once we got our entree. When I commented on how wonderful the lobster bisque was, she asked if I had tried their clam chowder. When I said no, she said that is what they are known for and brought us a cup to sample. She didn't fuss about our sharing an entree, and there was no silly charge for a split plate. (We split the entree and sides ourselves.) The stuffed lobster tails were fabulous, as was the asparagus. We paired our dinner with a lovely King Estate Pinot Gris.

Delicious food and great service! The staff allowed us to enjoy our conversation and did not try to hurry us through our meal or out of the restaurant. Recommendations provided were on point and our waiter was friendly and charming.

Had a 1:15 reservation. April vacation… so it was busy and we decided to sit at the bar we have 2 kids and love that this restaurant allows them at the bar… especially since it’s across from the aquarium and is kid friendly. We had a surf and turf sandwich which was amazing and a lobster roll. The lobster roll came out plain… an honest mistake as I had asked for extra mayo in the side for my fries. The bartender made it right immediately and even suggested I hold onto my fries while I wait… really thoughtful!! Lobster roll came out perfect. I love that they offer soooo many options for kids meals and for sides. My daughter loves to get popcorn shrimp and was overjoyed to see it on the menu. Couldn’t have been a better experience! Will definitely be back!

This is an iconic restaurant for this area, but has changed in the last year and is WAY overpriced. $7 for a side of jasmine rice is ridiculous.

We’ve been to legal seafood before and thought this one would be great given it’s in New England. The lobster roll had zero flavor, the salmon BLT was extremely salty and overall it was just not a great experience. The location is great for being by the aquarium but for the price and value you’re better off finding something better.

The food was great but the service was disorganized and slow. This ambiance is bad. The seating is uncomfortable and tight. There are only a couple 4-top booths. The rest is bar seating, counter-height tables, or 2-tops. Restrooms were messy and poorly kept. Front of the house was lackadaisical. The only saving grace here is the food.

Had a fantastic Easter dinner with a large group (10 of us). Server was wonderful & food was excellent!! When I called to ask if there was valet parking The hostess said no, and the parking garage near them was very expensive so most people park very very far away and walk. We almost reconsidered our reservation because I had an elderly person and another on crutches. But we parked at the parking garage. It was very convenient. Just about 2 1/2 hours cost $44 for parking. But I would definitely go back. Any chance I could.

The food quality is amazing and the texture incredible. The service is amazing! The only thing I would complain is the noise but we’ll we can’t do anything about that.

I was at Legal Sea Foods Waterfront 1 1/2 weeks ago and I wrote an amazing review because they were willing to make me delicious maki rolls without rice (I eat Low Carb and don't eat any rice). The bartender who served us said this was definitely the way they would serve sushi if requested. I was very excited. I therefore chose this location when I was taking my nephew's wife and their son for lunch. This time the restaurant absolutely refused to do this. The manager told me that the sushi chef said no. Something is broken with management there. You can't trust what they tell you. Very disappointed! The Sashimi was good but that wasn't what I wanted but had no choice.
