Have been here a lot but this was worse than normal. Fish was perfect, mashed potatoes were terrible cold and stale, broccoli wasn’t great.

It’s a perfect location for pre theater ! Service was quick and excellent which was important! Food is consistent here I loved my crabcake and fresh oysters delicious! The atmosphere is a bit loud and hectic with tables very close to each other but it’s understandable given the location etc. overall would recommend for sure as a pre theater stop.

We were going to the ballet, so we needed to be out of there by 7 o’clock or 710 the latest. I told our waiter when we sat down at 5:45. He said yes I know everybody has to be out of here by then . he walked away and ignored us until he took our food order at 6:25 . Our food didn’t come until 650. Also, when I asked him what kind of seltzer drinks they had he said I don’t know what those are but he did because on the menu they have high noon seltzer drinks. He was horrible! we had six people at our table half of us had cold food. I tried to go talk to a manager couldn’t even get a manager. I will never go there again

We have been huge Legals fans for years. However, the past 2 times we’ve eaten here been incredible disappointed. While the service is great, the food is bland. No seasoning, fish is dry, just overall really disappointing considering what it used to be. We won’t be going back.

Wide range of options, including gluten-free! Fun cocktail suggestions. I had halibut on mash potatoes and kale. Perfect portion size. Very tasty. Everyone else liked their meal (Fish&Chips, chowder, ramen bowl) too. Attentive courteous service.

My spouse had crabcakes-were delicious. I had lobster-the tail was grisly, hard to chew. Not good.

In terms of food quality, it was OK. Volume was small. Taste was soso. Service was slow, it took over 15minutes for just a beer repeatedly, even 70% occupancy (Noto so busy situation). Overall I felt bit pricy even considering its location. I probably will not choose here personally unless I don’t have other options.

Very good dining experience. Consistently good food, excellent service and beautiful dining room. Reasonable prices and very well prepared dishes. We go to Legal often and will continue to go!

Great place to stop for lunch prior to the ballet. Quick service, fresh food. Blackened scallops on a salad, just delicious. We will be back.

We always love Legal and visit various ones often. We never realized this one was right across from the Opera House. The signage is not good! We go to the Opera and Ballet often and eat at sub standard restaurants. Until my husband was googling around and found you. Thank goodness. A delicious meal.

Excellent food. More of a lunch place. It can get crowded and noisy. Our server was excellent; asked if we had theatre tickets, graciously returned a Caesar side salad for the Greek salad ordered, came by to check on our progress. Glad to see the menu expanded to more small plates, sushi, etc.

We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner tonight. The food is delicious and the portions are generous. My husband and I each had the rainbow trout with different sides, and everything was beautifully prepared. The service started out a bit slow as it was peak hour and the tables were filled, but our server was very attentive and took great care of us. All in all, highly recommended!

New menu had interesting options and it included some old favorites! I had the baked haddock which was delicious. My friend had the Greek salad with scallops - also delicious. Service was good!

This was one of the more disappointing meals at Legal, which is usually so dependable. We had a 5:45 reservation and arrived on time. The service was not great. The waiter did not introduce himself. He was slow refilling water glasses. At 7PM when I asked if I had time for a decaf coffee and told him we had theatre tickets at 7:30, he said no problem. The coffee arrived at 7:18. We had to leave immediately, so I paid for coffee I never had time to drink. The food was reasonably good but not up to Legal standards in my experience. We shared mussels first (very good) and then had grilled scallops. My scallops were slightly overdone. The curried veggie medley tasted strongly of cinnamon not curry. Not sure I would return to this location.

Excellent seafood restaurant, we had the clam chowder and oysters, and then scallops and salmon. Everything was fresh and delicious. Our waiter was efficient and professional. I recommend this restaurant and will return on my next visit to Boston.

I was disappointed in the main course, I ordered mixed winter veg and got asparagus, the sweet potato was too much like a purée. Chose cod and it was OK, however, I was expecting more than OK, (a little dry)

The service was impeccable by the wait staff, in particular our server Dean. The food was as usual delicious and very nicely plated and served. The maitre de was also lovely and very helpful.

I requested a booth by window and got a booth on the other side we had to climb into. The elderly people I was with had difficulty getting in. I wanted a medium filet and it was close to raw. I also asked my server twice to give me legal points and gave him my code. He assured me he did it and did not. My code was 330 and believe his name was James.

Poor welcome by front of house. Booked months in advance for special occasion. Shown to a pokey table by a pillar in the bar despite empty tables in the dining room. Asked for a different table and our friendly server immediately moved us to the dining room - under the disapproving gaze of the sulky front of house person. Food was fine but welcome left a bad taste.

Had a reservation for dinner but missed lunch so arrived early. Was promptly seated. Ordered a cup of clam chowder - served in smallest “cup” - more like 1/2 cup. The chowder was excellent. Had blackened salmon with coleslaw & rice pilaf. Coleslaw was dull need to be brightened up. Pilaf was good. Will return for more chowder.
