    Wonderful service - the waitress was knowledgeable about the menu and punctual with the good and drink. She brought us a nice surprise for our cousin’s birthday. I would definitely go there again!

    I have never had any problems at this location of Legal Sea Foods in the past, however, this time it was bad. We had our "standard" order -- an appetizer + 2x baked&stuffed lobsters + dessert + coffee + some wine: (a) the waiter forgot our appetizer and didn't even recall that we had ordered it -- thankfully they didn't include it in the check; (b) one of the sides, mushrooms was really burnt -- we complained but nothing happened; (c) we got our order 45min after the order -- that's way too long provided that the restaurant was not busy at all; (d) the waiter didn't offer us to refill our water until we asked. Finally, they are still not accepting tap-to-pay (like Apple Pay) -- fortunately I had my physical credit card on me -- really, in 2024??? The lobster was really overpriced -- at least a 30% increase compared to Jul/2023. Will unlikely go there again any time soon.

    Nice option and delicious food and service. Quiet for Saturday at 7 but late diners filled up soon after

    A friend and I had a fun celebratory dinner on a bustling Friday evening. The Rhode Island style Calamari appetizer was a little heavy on the breading, and light on acidity, which is usually the draw for this dish. Overall it was good, just a little underwhelming. The Salt and Vinegar Cod was very good. The fish was cooked perfectly and the remoulade along with the potato wedges rounded out a very nice dish.

    I have eaten at legal seafoods many times and have enjoyed the experience. However, this time was by far one of the worst restaurant experiences we’ve had in awhile. Our server took 22 minutes to come and greet us at the table to take a order. Then another 10 minutes to get drinks. So were seated 30 minutes before we had drinks. My companion ordered the salmon with beurre blanc sauce. It did not come with any sauce. They did not explain why this was the case so we called her back to ask. They said they were out of sauce. When I said this should have been disclosed before serving the meal that we paid for, she just said sorry but did not suggest any solutions. For dessert we ordered the Keylime pie with raspberries. They were apparently out of raspberries, so just decided to put strawberries on it instead. Not really a big deal, but this is just careless especially if we had had an allergy to strawberries or just wanted raspberries. Ordered sparkling water with lime. The server brought over the sparkling water and then went to the bar and got a bunch of limes that she wrapped up in a napkin and put the napkin on our table. This was a bit gross. The server never checked in to see how we were enjoying the meal. We are not whiny, wealthy people who feel entitled to the fastest service and most amazing experiences. Rather, we just appreciate a level of professionalism and feeling we are welcome when we dine out. We did not feel that at all legal seafoods in Somerville. All of these relatively minor things added up to a really poor experience and presented the restaurant as if it does not care about its guests’ experience. Our server ended up comping our drinks which we appreciated, but I much rather would have paid for them to have a nice night out.

    We were seated right on time for our reservation, but that was the only thing that went right. It took more than 30 minutes before our drinks were served, and we had to leave without eating after an hour in order to make our movie reservations on time. It wasn't even exceptionally busy, so to not even have our food served after 60 minutes was absurd. Will never go to this location again.
