Le lounge au niveau supérieur comprend un vaste bar en acajou bien approvisionné, de confortables canapés et tables à manger où savourer un repas légers, ainsi qu'une véranda pour se préserver du froid en hiver et de la chaleur en été. The food is very delicious with amazing flavors in every dish, including dessert. The server, however, was not very attentive, and we had to make an extra effort to catch her attention.

9.5/10! The hosts were wonderful and very accommodating. The food was outstanding per usual. My only complaint would be our waiter, he wasn’t very attentive and this was frustrating as we wanted to order more. The rest of the experience made up from the service but as always a wonderful dining experience.

While the food is pretty great, the staff needs desperate training. Most servers kept talking to each other in between tables about personal matters, we didn’t get any recommendations from the server or even an introduction. We waited for a while to get our order taken and when we did it was only a smidge nicer than “you ready?”. It’s my third time here and it was such a bummer in comparison to other times.

Food was great and restaurant was beautiful but they didn’t have a table ready for my reservation with little apology. They said they had a busy night? They made room for us at the bar but it was really noisy.

Phenomenal food, fresh, delicious and cocktails were outstanding… cant wait to go back. Service was amazing, and our server was very attentive. Restaurant is absolutely gorgeous! Everything there was breathtakingly beautiful. My only complaint, a small one, was that the tables were very close together. Other than that, all good. Will definitely be going back!

I hosted a luncheon for six at Le Colonial and everything about the experience was exceptional, as it was for my guests. Everyone was gracious and attentive. The menu is exquisite, the food was amazing, the service was superb and the attention to detail - from the staging of the table to the timing and presentation of the selections - was perfect. Rave reviews and comments from everyone in our party. We extend our appreciation to all at Le Colonial - front and backstage - who each contributed to our delight and fond memories.

Amazing experience, everything was phenomenal from the cocktails to the large plates and sides. Highly recommend the shaking beef and stir fry chicken as well as the garlic noodles and green beans. Great price for what you get and the level the cuisine is at.

The environment and ambience were absolutely amazing. We got a seat at the patio by the window, the view was perfect. The food was decent but not outstanding. The rice wrap for the shrimp is not well soaked which made the wrap hard and not edible. It's a little bit overpriced - $40 for a steak salad yep. The drinks were great love them, but would not come again.

Another lovely dinner at Le Colonial! Delicious food and wonderful service. Try the lemon curd dessert— it was so good! Can’t wait to come back to one of our very favorite Chicago restaurants!

The food at Le Colonial is excellent. It's always very fresh and and the flavor is wonderful. We've been there multiple times, and have never been disappointed with either the quality of the service. It is on Oak St, and thus the Gold Coast of Chicago, so prices (outrageous) reflect this. The least expensive glass of wine is $17, the least expensive draft craft beer is $12. Expect a $100 tab per person even if you limit yourself to one drink.

We're sorry that the value wasn't better for you, but yes, we do find them fair for the neighborhood & the city, We wish the costs in the world & our arena didn't keep rising & we really appreciate your patronage & time. Kindly note that our least expensive glasses of wine are $15 for whites, $16 for reds, rosés, & sparkling wines. Please consider joining us some day for our "Saigon Social" in the lounge & bar, Monday through Friday, from 3PM to 6PM, where we offer special pricing on some dishes & beverages. Additionally, we offer a special Prix-Fixe lunch menu, Monday through Friday. Thank you again for dining & for the recommendation! We hope to see you again soon!

Excellent service and food. Our family's favorite restaurant in the whole world! I've been dining at Le Colonial Chicago since they first opened in 1995 when I lived in Chicago and it's been consistently great throughout all those years.

I made a reservation to sit at the bar . When I got there they wanted to put me at a table . I was alone and did not want to . The bar was full. I had to wait 45 mns before sitting at the bar. That is not acceptable . I also found this Colonial in Chicago much too noisy with parties of 10+ tables . I’m used to going to Le Colonial in NYC which is a much nicer and classy experience where the sound level is kept down. It’s also smaller and more intimate . I will not return to Chicago Le Colonial.

Thank you for your visit & past support of Le Colonial. While the NYC location closed in 2019, we've been proudly busy & open in Chicago since 1996. We share in your disappointment with your experience. Our OpenTable booking page states: specific rooms & seating requests aren't guaranteed. We're sorry for any confusion, but we only take reservations for seated tables. No reservations are taken for the bar & half of the lounge, which are 'first-come, first-served'. Other areas can be booked for group dining. For these reasons, the bar & lounge can be the livelier & louder, especially on a Fri night, such as when you dined.. Should you have accepted a table in another area of the restaurant, it likely would've been quieter. Thank you for giving us a try- we hope some day you'll try us again!

This was our first time at this restaurant and we were impressed. The atmosphere is very appropriate and the food and the drink options are enough for everyone to find something to enjoy. Our meals were tasty and fresh.
