Some of your favorite French menu items will not be found on the menu, but it is still good. It was obvious something was wrong in the kitchen, as food was taking way too long to come out; waiters were constantly hovering around the dumb waiter waiting for orders to come up and be served. In the end, the restaurant comped our bottle of wine for our troubles which we appreciated.

Really enjoyed Le Bistrot. Food was excellent and so were the cocktails. Great service as well. Would definitely dine here again if returning to Edinburgh.

Nestled within the French Consulate building, this charming restaurant offered a modest menu of outstanding dishes. During our visit, I had the beef stew which was rich, velvety, and delicious, as well as the chicken with mushroom sauce, also quite amazing. My wife had the cod, which she described as light and airy, the best she’s ever had. Salads were fresh and dressed lightly and tastily! The desserts were perfect too! We had the citrus tart as well as the fruit tart. If I lived here, it would most definitely be on my regular list!

Excellent service, very good food, reasonable price for central Edinburgh, only slight disadvantage was a large table of more senior men, who were very loud at times, will definitely return on our next visit

This was a nice little place on the Royal Mile that was comfortable and not too busy. The food was great and we were pleased.

Lovely restaurant with outstanding service. The food was delicious. The tables are a bit small an the bistro chairs, well, they are bistro chairs. Would recommend the restaurant very much though.
