Located in the Historic Pearl, Ladino is a modern Mediterranean grill house celebrating all the cultures and cuisines of the Mediterranean region. Ladino features fresh-made pita from a wood-burning oven, an abundance of dips and small plates, and entrees from the 'mangal' - regional specialties cooked on a live-fire, charcoal grill. First timers-we were seated quickly and our sever Evan was attentive and provided us with good suggestions. We chose the tasting menu, but we thought it was paced out sporadically, some dishes would come out too quickly and felt rushed to finish them in order to make room for the next course. The appetizers were both delicious and the sourdough pita was amazing. The salad that followed was good as well. The main courses were good, but our saffron chicken was dry, good flavor though. My husband didn’t care for the dessert, but I thought it was good. We also ordered Turkish coffee-but it was gritty, not sure if that is typical. Overall, it was beautiful restaurant but perhaps the next time, we’ll order off the menu and ask for the dishes to come out accordingly.

Delicious food and great ambience! Our server could’ve been better but other servers stepped in and everyone was so pleasant. Will definitely be back!

Service was excellent. Variety of items to choose from. Small, shareable plates allows for you to pick several dishes and enjoy the entire menu. Ambiance was fantastic. Casual but not feeling out of place if you wanted to be a bit more formal. Great space!

AC was broken and server was not great. Just very scattered, not attentive, and had to remind him of things multiple times. Food, as always, was fabulous. Edit: I actually wanted to revise this a little bit. The Tables of Joy is the best value I’ve experienced at any restaurant, ever. Between four of us, we must have tried 15 different items, and each one was outstanding. We’ve done tables of joy twice. Our female server was very good, by the way. She served us toward the end of our meal.

AC was broken. Should have comped entire meal for making customers endure a boiling hot dining room. Or management should have closed the restaurant that day. Unacceptable.

We tried multiple small plates and entrees. Aside from the tasty pita bread and hummus, these were mostly bland and luke-warm when they reached the table.

This was the second time eating there, and the while the 1st time was delicious, last night was the best meal I've had in San Antonio in the year that we've lived here. Our group of 6 did the Chef's taste/Menu and there was plenty of food to go around, we tried what seemed like the entire menu, and each dish was incredible. Since it was a work dinner with folks from out of town, I won huge points choosing the place, it was a hit all-around. Service was great, drinks were good- but the food? exceptional. When my wife and I went the first time, we just ordered off the menu. Not sure which is the best option for just 2 people, but for a group of 6, we couldn't have asked for a better meal. Without a doubt Ladino has been added to the rotation. *Plus the Pearl area is always good for a walk and the bar at the Emma (Sternewirth) makes it a great night out.
