La Strada Italian Kitchen and Bar, located in downtown Birmingham, is an authentic Italian Restaurant opened by Restaurateur and Chef Zharko Palushaj in late 2015. He began developing his concept in 2013 when he was named Restaurateur of the year by Hour Magazine. The menu features top quality of Italian/European products, variation of aged and fresh cheeses, salumis, pizzas, in-house made pasta, fish and seafood flown from all over the world. We also include top American beef and poultry , classic desserts and gelato. As our Chef-Owner's philosophy states, "Old world meets New world, where quality meets preparation and European style service meets expectations of the guests". Passion, quality, attention to details, and most importantly dedication to his wonderful guests make La Strada a world of its own. To serve you is a real privilege and pleasure!

La Strada is a beautiful restaurant and the food is very good. The wine list is stupidly expensive and insulting . We asked the server for butter for the bread twice and when he finally brought it, we noticed we were charged $3.50 for it. After ordering the appetizers we were told one of them was not available and when we asked to see the menu to choose another, the server seemed impatient and just suggested that we order the sausage appetizer, which we did. We felt rushed. Also, some time after ordering the entrees we were told that one of them was not available and, again, we felt rushed to find something else. While we thought the food was good we felt that we were taken advantage of and we will not return.

With an 8pm reservation, we had to wait 15-20min to be seated. Table was too small for the size of dishes they served the food in. A hair was found in the appetizer dish (Calamari Fra Diavola). One out of the two main courses (Lamb Shank) temps was on the cold side. We received two free drinks, and a cheesecake.

We remember the issue with your table, the manager took full responsibility to corrected and replace the dish without questioning if it was from the kitchen or during dinning, you kindly refused. Nick was great! Unfortunately, the food was good, but so slow…. 2 pieces of bread and one cocktail in the first 75 minutes. We’ve had outstanding experiences in the past. Maybe just an off night?
