We are located right in the center of the city (22 Union Place, EH1 3NQ), just a few minutes walk from Edinburgh Waverly station and Princes Street, directly opposite the famous Edinburgh Playhouse. The perfect location to enjoy a meal before or after the theatre.

Well looked after, from the start. Staff must be aware that the majority of diners at that time are off to the Theatre. Food very tasty, Whitebait really nice.

Great menu 6 of us there from teenagers to pensioners plenty to choose from and everything delicious staff very friendly and did a great job would definitely recommend it

This was my third visit to La Sal and as a frequent visitor to Madrid, we love tapas, so the authenticity of the food is fabulous. The staff are attentive to your needs and always have a good bit "banter" with you. Will definitely be back.

Outstanding delicious tapas and other Spanish cuisine. Simple and full of flavour. 4 dishes and a pudding all fabulous. Service excellent and overall a wonderful family business so rare. Coming back soon…..,

First time at this place and it didn't disappoint. We ordered a few doubles of tapas but were advised by the waiter that we might have too much food as the portions are quite large so we took his advice and were so glad we did! Everything was freshly cooked and brought out at intervals rather than all at once so it was traditional tapas style. We loved practising our Spanish language with the waiter who encouraged us by only speaking in Spanish which was fab. The place has a friendly atmosphere and great service can't wait to go again

Lovely restaurant, good selection of tapas and excellent service from the two waitresses on. Recommended how many dishes would suit us and very reasonably priced considering right across from the Playhouse. First time we visited and we will definately be back.

Not living in Edinburgh this was only our second visit and again it was a very pleasant experience. All staff were friendly and attentive and extremely helpful and engaging. Would be happy to return on our next visit. Would advise reserving a table as it seems a popular venue.

What a find! Absolutely stunning food, authentic, hot, full of flavour. The best tempura cod I’ve ever had. The garlic chilli prawns, garlic he chorizo with potatoes. The wine and sherry-all gorgeous. The service was amazing. Definitely recommend and will revisit.

A lovely place: food was amazing, the service exceptional, and it's just in front of the Edinburgh Playhouse, if you are looking for a bite before theatre. I will definitely be back!

A great restaurant with friendly and attentive staff. Tapas dishes are very tasty. We've been to La Sal 3 times now and always enjoy our meals and very central for attending shows at the Playhouse theatre. Would highly recommend.

We loved it here , excellently valued great food Superb service from extremely nice staff The back corner where we were was a wee bit out of it , felt a bit sparse - could maybe be made a bit more cozy and comfy there

Great unexpected find. First time here and loved it. Very welcoming, great service and delicious food. Only observation is that we expected portions akin to Spanish tapas, i.e. small dishes, but these are much bigger! We started by ordering 6 dishes between two and were (rightly) advised that this was quite a lot! We reduced to 5 but would have been satisfied with 4 (at least for a lunch). Will definitely visit again.

We had a delightful meal at Lasal. The food was well presented, well cooked and very tasty. Our server (sorry can't remember his name) was attentive without being overbearing. There was a pleasant ambience in the restaurant and we, as a group of four, were very satisfied with the quality and service level. The only blip preventing a five star rating was that when presented with the bill it was for twice the amount it should have been. An error at the till being to blame. We all agreed we would recommend to friends/colleagues.

The food was not bad but not Spanish. The paella was rice with tomato and chicken. The waiter was very friendly, but I wouldn't repeat. I think the mistake is that it doesn't seem like the restaurant is run by a Spaniard. Among them they spoke Portuguese so good food but it has no Spanish essence

The staff were lovely. The menu is Spanish but there seems to be something missing. Still, very good value for money and the food is good, just missing a bit of its charm.

Service was fantastic but unfortunately the food let it down a bit. Maybe it’s just because I’ve eaten a lot of tapas in different regions but I felt it lacked flavour and authenticity.

I had a lovely lunch here with 2 friends on Sunday. The waitress overheard that it was my friends birthday and she surprised her with a free slice of cake with a candle on top. It was lovely! The meal was great value for money too, I would recommend this restaurant to anyone who enjoys Spanish cuisine!
