LA Puglia celebrates the beauty of the Puglia region - in the Southern Italy - through its culinary tradition with a contemporary sensibility and aims to transport its guests right there through an authentic food & wine experience.
Calling it “an ode to the authenticity of our regional cuisines”, the prestigious Gambero Rosso International awarded LA Puglia in Santa Monica as Restaurant of the Year from among its 2023 list of Top Italian Restaurants in the world. The official press release describes feeling transported to a small town between Bari and Lecce where flavors without filters and authentic, precise cooking deliver a genuine Apulian experience.
Our menu features specialties such as fresh orecchiette with brasciole, black linguine with seafood, puree of fava beans with sautéed dandelion greens, the unique Apulian focaccia, and Pasticciotto, the decadent cream-filled pastry eaten for breakfast in the province of Lecce.

We went with the family for dinner for Mother’s Day celebrations and unfortunately, we were not able to eat the food. Everything seemed fresh, but had not taste. It’s a beautiful restaurant great service. The dessert was great, but the authentic food had no taste so I think we all left hungry.

We had a wonderful dining experience at LA Puglia . We were a party of 5 and everything from the bruschetta appetizer to everyone’s entree was delicious . The drinks were excellent as well . Our server was a great and so knowledgeable. I would definitely recommend LA Puglia !

We were visiting our grown children who now live in CA. Everything was incredible! We felt right at home. Very attentive staff. The homemade tagliatelle pasta, seafood, lasagna, & pizza made it easy for everyone to find something on the menu they loved! It was the perfect evening!

The most authentic Italian food in the area that offers a great variety of dishes and wines from the region of Puglia, on the heel of Italy , well known for its culinary excellence. The eggplant parmigiana was so tasty but still light, cooked on the spot. I loved the Alessia pasta. The ambience is cool and the staff along with the owners are very friendly. I’ll be back very soon, it’s definitely worth the drive from OC.

Drive by this spot weekly, always telling myself to eat there. My wife and I got a nanny and made a reservation for the Tuesday Jazz Night. Great experience, great music, great service, and most importantly, great food.

I enjoyed their delicious food, tasteful cocktail and gelato. The interior decor is charming and comfortable. Service was great. One of the best Italian restaurants in Los Angeles. Highly recommanded.

We had a great lunch at La Puglia. The pasta was great and the sandwich was so fresh and tasty. Nice selection of wine too. We’re glad we stumbled upon this place and will surely be back.

What a delightful find! A variety of excellently prepared and presented Italian dishes with an authentic and thorough emphasis on Pugliese classics, including wines, pasta and elevated street food. Service and ambience are perfect, with a modern, yet oh so Italian design sensibility. In Brentwood for a month, this is now my go to daily kitchen.

We are regulars at La Puglia because of the food, etc., but this was the first time we went for the Tuesday night jazz. This night the music was in fact flamenco. Everything was terrific. If you go on a Tuesday for the music, I suggest arriving by 6:30 so that you can get through most of your meal before the music starts.

nice to have a place with live jazz on Tuesdays. acoustics for dining awful, too loud. we had to move next door to other room so we could converse. so we didn't get to see the central amer/flamenco musicians. Pizza very tasteless, vegetable one. wines average $25 per glass! branzino was one small piece of fish, with no sides. I would not go back but the waiter was lovely and tried to please. they should do something about the noise level, maybe carpeting?

LA Puglia has never disappointed us! The food was delicious - Rosa Pasta - Meat Lasagna - Salmon Pizza. The ambiance is friends, family or date fun. The servers are wonderful and enjoy their time with the guests. They answer your questions and are patient and friendly. Lunch or dinner and I believe they also have some breakfast options too. They have a jazz set up next door so I recommend getting on their newsletter list for current information if you enjoy delicious food and amazing music.

SURREALE!!! La Puglia in cui ho vissuto non è così. La Puglia e Lecce è accoglienza!!! Non aggressione per qualche dollaro. Sono stato atteso alla porta e aggredito verbalmente perché al cameriere non andava bene la mancia lasciata. Cena con la mia ragazza stasera. Aspettiamo per ordinare perché non arriva nessuno. Forse l’acqua potreste portarla. Mangiamo un buon primo con cozze e vongole; un buon gelato; un buon branzino. Sinceramente mi portano un antipasto di latticini e formaggi che non mi viene spiegato dal cameriere; non capivo cosa ci fosse dentro. Anche perché la qualità della mozzarella e della burrata era veramente bassa. Inoltre da un ristorante che si chiama Puglia mi aspettavo di trovare un livello alto sulla burrata. Chiedo un calice di vino, il Tramari. Il cameriere italiano che ci ha servito non capiva cosa stessi chiedendo, forse non conosceva la lista dei vini. Mi porta il calice versandolo in cucina, sarebbe bello comunque portare la bottiglia e versarlo a tavola. Inoltre, quantomeno, chiedimi se va bene il vino perché la bottiglia potrebbe avere qualche difetto. Arriviamo al termine della cena, si mostrano gentili regalandoci un pasticciotto, probabilmente per rimediare. Considerando l’attesa, gli antipasti e il problema con il vino, su un conto di 120 dollari lascio 10 dollari di mancia. Il cameriere mi attende alla porta. Io volevo solo andare via perché avevo fretta e la mia ragazza non si sentiva bene. Alla domanda se ci fosse stato qualche problema, decido di rispondere educatamente che non ci fossero stati problemi particolari perché volevamo solo andare via avendo fretta di recarci in un altro luogo. Il cameriere italiano arriva quasi a ordinarmi di lasciare di più di mancia. Io rispondo cortesemente che sarei tornato e avrei rimediato la volta successiva. Il cameriere decide di continuare ad aggredire verbalmente me e la mia ragazza incinta, trattandoci come dei pezzenti, provocandoci con frasi del tipo “bella figura, amico mio”

I highly recommend going on one of their "experience" nights that includes live jazz. The performance truly added so much to our experience and the place was packed with others who were also having a great time.

Very enjoyable restaurant. The pasta dishes are an appropritae size and delicious. The ladies are from Italy and it was fun talking with them. When we arrived at 7pm the noise was not a problem but by 8 it was quite loud. Numerous wines from little known areas of Italy; of course we had one from Puglia. Papy

My food was not good. The others had better food. When asked how it was I responded honestly. Wasn’t complaining but then they brought out desert instead of removing the item from the bill. Bad form. $60! Corkage. Won’t be returning.

It was a very nice experience from greeting to finish. Our waiter was friendly, knowledgeable and helpful and timed our entire dinner from appetizers to dessert beautifully.

Sticking to Puglia roots and tradition, LA Puglia serves up dishes that showcase a specific ingredient or two. This restaurant was recommended to us by two locals after asking for a restaurant that was simplistic and cooked with love. Dishes are served family style and easily shared. We ordered the fava bean purée and a special of the evening (fried shrimp, calamari, and octopus) for appetizers. We received exactly that. The fava bean puree was delicious. We also split an arugula salad- lightly dressed with a few halved cherry tomatoes and shaved parm. For dinner, we split a mushroom pizza and pasta with langoustines. Both plates were simple, cooked perfectly, and not drowned in sauce or butter or overly salted. We would certainly return to try more of LA Puglias dishes. Thank you for preparing food that highlights the ingredient’s characteristics.
