The place was busy and as expected very noisy. There was a moth flying around the restaurant which was off putting and the floor under our table still had food debris. The pizzas were all great but the bruschetta is an assured taste. We had coffee and cake afterwards downstairs and there was fly in the cake cabinet. Overall the hygiene needs looking at in the whole place, particularly around food and tables / sitting areas.

Food is always excellent. Service was rushed although restaurant not that busy early on a Wednesday night at 5:30 And our server wasn’t particularly knowledgeable about one of the entrees we asked about. Most annoying was the wine pricing … as we left we saw a display of our dinner wine which was selling for $14.90 versus $60 which is what we paid… quadrupling the price does seem excessive. Seems like more if a tourist spot than one you’d like to come back to. Maybe just an off night, but not anxious to return soon.

We had quite a disappointing experience on Saturday evening, which very different than my previous experience here. After being seated, we waited almost ten minutes to be greeted by anyone. Our food was not coursed—my boyfriend’s entrée came out about 8 min before mine, with no explanation. Both were room temperature. No one came back at all during the duration of the meal to see if anything was needed, such as water or pepper. At the end of the evening I asked to speak to a manager; no one could be located.

My husband and I love Eatily... great for lunch after doing some business nearby. It may be needed for the restaurant.... but eliminating a favorite salad is a real bummer. I hope they bring back the kale salad with the raisins SOON. Offering all the salads with vinegar dressing is not good either. We were disappointed.

I went here for the first time. The service was amazing! Food was probably the best food I have eaten in a very long time. Everything was absolutely phenomenal. I would give this 10 stars if I could. I would definitely make this a must on everyone’s stop. I will be coming back next time I am in Chicago again

Eataly is always an engaging experience from the moment one walks through the door. The food and drink is dependable. Where it fell well short this time was on the hospitality end. The hostess acted as if we were there to have mugshots taken before being jailed. The server was only a bit better. Management needs to devote more to training. Italy, it is not, because in the actual location, staff would be all in.

Awful food --all five entrees--and awful noise. Awful service--entrees came as much as 15 minutes apart. Ridiculous prices for such a headache of a place.

We made a 7pm reservation for 8, arrived early and checked in. Our table wasn’t ready until 7:22pm, but we were given a 6 top (3 chairs and a booth bench). We had 2 children in our party, so we just squeezed in. Asked for a high chair to be more comfortable, but one was never brought to the table. We ended up looking around the restaurant to find one and brought it back ourselves. We also had to ask for 2 additional place settings when the food arrived because they didn’t bring them after seating us. Took a while for server to come back after she initially greeted us. Bought a bottle of wine for the table, which cost $80+, then realized the market area sells it for $14. We powered through simply because the food is always delicious.

The pizza is good but even if you ask for well done it’s a bit soggy and flimsy. $10 for a bowl of noodles for a kid is also a bit much. Service was just meh. And the awkward handheld credit card things where they stare at you while you select their tip with the lowest option being 20%. I typically tip 20% anyway but they calculated 20% of the food plus the taxes. Idk it’s just OK.

Great food but very difficult to find the restaurant! You walk into a gigantic food hall and no signs of a restaurant, nobody greets or guides you. We finally asked the custodian on duty, maybe he should get an upgraded position! Papardelle funghi wonderful, delicious homemade foccacia bread and a margharita pizza that doubled as a yummy breakfast.

I took a group of young adults to enjoy a special dinner. The waiter wasn’t very helpful… several from my group were having difficulty understanding the menu and rather than help he just said “I’ll come back later.” He seemed annoyed by us. My typical waiter (I can’t remember his name but he is a Mexican man) is outstanding! But this guy was so uninformed it made this time’s experience just ok. One other note is that I had put in a message that we would most likely need to add another to our party, but when we arrived, the hosts seemed really caught off guard by that and made more of a scene than needed for adding 1 chair to our table.

It was Meh. But the price for meh was far too steep in my opinion. If I could go back in time, would have chosen wiser. Food was ok, service was ok, but definitely paid for better than ok.

Excellent housemade pastas, top quality salads, and main dishes. Also the pizza is truly Italian, and you wont' find it anywhere else in Chicago - soft yet with a doughy chew and really fresh ingredients. Eatly is not a Michelin starred spot, and it's a bit touristy, but as a local, I love coming here. Great for families too!

The food was pricey but what you would expect for a place like eataly. I would recommend getting the pasta seca if you want a bigger portion. The polpette was really good too.

I'd say Meh... We went there looking for deep dish Chicago pizza, based on what was listed in Yelp and on recommendations from hotel concierge. Disappointed to learn they only serve Neapolitan style. I think our waiter was disappointed, too, to learn that we only wanted pizza and then the bill. I've had Neapolitan style before and this experience/taste was ok. Impressed with how quickly it arrived at our table, but that was it.

Great location in an interesting Italian market. The food had interesting twists on Italian favorites however my pasta was underdone and not piping hot along with surprisingly small portions for the price. A fun place to visit but not necessarily for the food. Hosts and servers were all friendly and helpful when asked but did seem overwhelmed with the Saturday night crowd. A+ for the wine, apps and atmosphere however.

The whole night was a complete mess. It took them almost a full hour to deliver our food, no one came to take away our plates from our appetizer and they stayed there until the end of the meal. I. Addition with all the wait staff walking around, no one brought us new water and we had to ask for more. Even when the food came, the pasta was over cooked and wasn’t worth the price. Overall it was a very poor experience given the amount that they charge.

The food selection and taste was amazing. The service was very slow and moderate. The portion sizes were not consistent from entree to entree. The volume was okay for having a table conversation, but you couldn't hear the music.

Got there at 8:45pm. The waiter rushed the food because he wanted to get out of there making us feel like we were eating in a fast food joint. Waiter was not attentive and seemed impatient. Food was good, but the overall experience ruined the food. Considering how expensive the food is and the fact that we ordered appetizers, mains and wine, we we were chased from out of there in under one hour. Never going back there!

Our server was great, and we were sat early which was amazing! We were disappointed with the food however. The kids pizza and calzone were good. The Bolognese was sub par however. Very salty and not a lot of flavor.

The quality of Eataly’s food and service have gone down exponentially, but the prices have increased! Our appetizer never arrived and we had to flag down our server to get any help. The plates are extremely small, and it was just a very expensive but disappointing experience. I’d rethink making plans to come here if I were you.
