Located on the 5th floor of the Austin Proper Hotel, La Piscina Ceviches & Fajitas is a convivial poolside restaurant and bar serving Texas-inspired Mexican cuisine. The vibrant, open space overlooks the downtown Austin bustle as groups convene over family-style platters, ceviches and table-top sizzling fajitas, with fresh seafood grilled over a wood fire and house-made tortillas from an open comal. We just love this place! The food and drinks are good. We enjoy going there. We love getting the gulf coast ceviche. The service is good too!

Food was fantastic as always. The one thing I was bummed about was their pressure to turn the table over instead of letting you enjoy a few moments after eating. It was my girlfriend’s birthday and we were enjoying a conversation, but every 5 minutes they would check to see if we wanted anything more. Not in a good way, but more of a “are you done yet? please leave so we can make more money with other patrons” kind of way. Probably won’t go there for intimate meals like that again due to this. I get wanting to turn the table, but being pressured to leave when we hadn’t stayed very long in the first place, just a bummer.

Fajitas are really good, uniquely served perched on a chimney with a sterno flame under it to keep the cast iron vessel hot and the cheese bubbly. Drinks are first rate, clearly handmade with top notch ingredients. Downside is the restaurant is a bit cramped and pretty loud because of the small area and lots of people.

What a great restaurant. The vibes were outstanding . We had the steak fajitas which were outstanding. The only negative was that it took some time to get us our cocktails, but other than that it was great . This is an upscale Mexican restaurant locating in a beautiful hotel. A great place for date night !

Best fajitas I’ve ever had. The meat was deliciously Marinated, The cheese is melted (kind of baked) into the most incredible spread and the homemade tortillas and really delicious rojo and tomatillo salsas were delicious

Valet parking rate was very high even with a validation - makes coming back when not a hotel guest harder.

I eat here EVERY time I'm Austin (usually three/four times a year). As a native Texan, I can confidently say these are the best fajitas I've ever had. Worth the visit and every penny. A great place, all around.

We come to La Piscina about two Sundays a month for the brunch. We love the Brunch Fajita at La Piscina! The choice we make for the fajita is beef; the meat is accompanied by eggs (we choose scrambled), onions and peppers, hash browns and cheese, all served on a cast iron skillet which keeps it hot. The fresh chips and salsa come as soon as we are settled, rice and beans served with the meal. Our servers are all smiling and friendly. One of our favorite places for brunch.

We had requested an outdoor table but were seated inside which was smoky. The host informed us we could be moved but we never were. Service was very slow.

I had heard how the fajitas were incredible so we were looking forward to trying them. The presentation was good but the beef was fairly tough and chewy. Chicken was better. Salsa was below average I thought. Overall it’s a very loud place that seems to be the place to be judging by the crowd, but it wasn’t all that. Lots of places with better fajitas for a better deal.

Incredibly loud. Chair and tables are tiny and packed in to a small space. Pretty much have to scream to talk to your party. Great service. Limited menu. One guest couldn’t eat seafood and resulted in having to eat only nachos. Allergy issues were addressed by staff however it’s not something they address in overall menu presentation.

We travel from San Antonio to Austin quite often just to have lunch at La Piscina. The food is amazing and the service is great! It’s one of our very favorite restaurants in Austin. We highly recommend it!!!
