Come dine in this beautifully restored Uptown restaurant on Magazine Street and enjoy James Beard Award Winning Chef Justin Devillier's contemporary Louisiana Cuisine.

The La Petite Grocery name pays homage to the history of its home, a building that’s stood for more than a century. The original structure was built in the late 1800s and called the Central Tea, Coffee and Butter Depot. In 1908, a fire devastated the space and it was transformed into a full service grocery store. Later it was most notably a fine foods and butcher shop, VonderHaar’s Fine Foods until 1982. When La Petite Grocery opened in March of 2004, they similarly aspired to provide the neighborhood with exotic teas, locally roasted coffee, and fresh produce. By doing this, we hope to provide a dining experience that evokes nostalgia of old New Orleans. Reservations are preferred.

Food was exceptional. First time to LPG. Last of our four dinners this time in NOLA and arguably the best- which includes Commander’s Palace as competition. The element that put it over the top was Lucy, our server, who went above and beyond in guiding us through the menu and checking with the chef regarding our questions. She was exceptional. Our favorites of our selections were the crab beignets, the pan roasted chicken breast, the shrimp and grits, and the peach tart. La Petite Grocery will be a priority destination on our next trip.

Unfortunately we reserved an outdoor table not realizing it would offer zero ambiance. It was not worth the amount of money we spent for an ugly outdoor dining spot and a server who seemed as if we were an annoyance. The food was just OK. I’m sure our experience inside would have been better.

Creative menu, stellar service in a beautiful setting. My appetizer from the specials menu, short rib croquettes, were so tasty. My entrees paneed rabbit and it was perfectly prepared.

We had a wonderful dinner here. Great crab beignets. Delicious chicken breast entree. My husband enjoyed the seafood stew very much. The chocolate dessert was delicious. Presentation and tastes were amazing. Our server was friendly and very knowledgeable. We loved the quaint dining room.

Great dining experience for graduation lunch. Food was excellent, great service and nice atmosphere. Will definitely go back!

The drinks were fantastic. Food was good but not served very hot. The noise level was crazy - it was hard to hear anything my family was saying to me.
