Ce restaurant magnifiquement restauré en centre-ville, sur Magazine Street, vous attend pour le dîner, le souper et le brunch du dimanche. Vous pourrez apprécier la cuisine contemporaine de Louisiane préparée par le chef Justin Devillier, primé par la récompense de la fondation James Beard. Le nom, La Petite Épicerie, rend hommage à l'histoire de sa maison, un bâtiment érigé plus d'un siècle auparavant. La structure originale a été construite à la fin des années 1800 et s’appelait le Central Tea, Coffee and Butter Depot. En 1908, il a été dévasté par un incendie et transformé en une épicerie à service complet. Plus tard, il fut notamment une épicerie fine et une boucherie, Fine Foods Vonderhaar jusqu'en 1982. Ouverte en mars 2004, La Petite Epicerie aspirait à fournir le quartier avec des thés exotiques, du café torréfié localement et des produits frais. Grâce à cela, ce restaurant propose une expérience culinaire qui évoque la nostalgie de la vieille Nouvelle-Orléans.

Everything is delicious as always. Even if I had a bad experience I would go back. I love everything about the restaurant. It is impossible to have a bad experience. So much love and care. I go every year and am always super impressed. Recommend the burger, the Mac and cheese, ricotta dumplings, rabbit, lemon dessert. Service is very relaxed and friendly. They could do a bit better on prebussing, table maintenance, check backs. It seems that the servers don’t get a lot of support from back waiters or bussers. The daytime manager is excellent and is constantly table touching, running drinks and supporting the waitstaff the whole time. He is always a joy and a great manager. We had Martha one time and she’s a gem. So much personality and genuine warmth.

We love this place and come every time we’re in NOLA. First time having brunch here and it did not disappoint! The blue crab beignets were amazing, as was the biscuits and gravy. Can’t wait to return on our next visit!

Our favorite place in NOLA. Great service. Wonderful atmosphere. Unfortunately both our meals came out cold. Asked for reheat . Food came out same temperature on a hot plate. I guess it was just an off night . I would not hesitate recommending La Petite, and I will certainly eat here on my next visit to New Orleans.

It was wonderful. The blue crab beignets were my favorite!!!! So tasty. We tried the chef specials that weren’t on the main menu. Outstanding!! Highly recommend this place. The price was very reasonable for top star food. 20/10.

A neighborhood gem, with some outstanding appetizers and excellent service. Indoors gets very noisy and outdoor tables are quiet, but can be hot in the sun. Service is attentive but not obtrusive. I wish they had a courtyard.

It’s always a treat coming here. Whole we have loved our food in the past, We did need some guidance for recommendations for some of our party but our server had little to say. Zero guidance or description of the dishes. Very matter of fact. I do think they should have a steak option on the menu as well. We would’ve loved a little more info. Other than that for the most part the food was very tasty. Ambience nice and one should expect to spend a lot of $$$!

We had ordered hamburgers medium, asked without mustard and any other condiment but just to bring ketchup. The waitress got it correct but the kitchen didn’t. My husband waited while they I sent back my burger. Then I told him to eat while it was hot only to discover the raw interior. Needless to say, we canceled my sent back burger and paid for what we consumed. It didn’t live up to any reviews we read.

I am from out of town. I once lived in New Orleans. I have dined at La petite grocery several times in past years, but this was the most disappointing. Simply stated that, after I had had an appetizer, my wife and I had decided to split the entrée, a fish entrée costing $47. The kitchen was nice enough to split it for us on separate plates, but the sizes of the pieces of fish, now split, that we got were no larger than one piece of sushi each , about 2 x 2 “…it was quite surprising and almost comical to see this. Additionally, each one of the very very small pieces had a thick layer of fish skin on the top, —-okay.. but to such a degree , the thick layer of skin would have altered the taste of the very small pieces , again given the amount of skin that was present —-so once carefully removed, each piece of fish was no more than probably two bites each. When I shared this later on ,after dinner , with my host , a prominent attorney in New Orleans with whom I was staying with in New Orleans, he laughed and said “well I guess the restaurant name ‘petite’ is apropos . Needless to say, this was a very disappointing meal and although when I come to New Orleans for several days every year about this time, it’s unfortunate that , amongst the several restaurants that I like to visit during my short day, that the restaurant, La petite grocery, will no longer be on my list , or one of my recommendations to others.

We had a wonderful anniversary lunch. The crab beignets were delicious. We both had the special sandwich of the day which was a braised brisket sandwich. It was fantastic.

What a wonderful evening! The service was terrific and the food was even better. Flavor profiles were amazing from the ahi tuna appetizer through the multiple desserts. Bourbon list was strong with some hard to find options. Overall, a top 10 all-time dining experience.

This was our second time dining at La Petite, and we were once again blown away. The food was amazing. But our server, Hanna, was exceptional! She was friendly, knowledgeable and very helpful. Highly recommend this restaurant for all who enjoy New Orleans food.

Our group of 6 had a lovely lunch. We were very greeted very warmly upon arrival by the manager. Food was very good and ambiance was nice. Fried green tomato appetizer was delicious!
