La Mar’s cocktail menu is built around Pisco, the national drink of Peru, and goes beyond the classics like the Pisco Sour to feature a dozen specialized cocktails including the Chilcano with Pisco, ginger beer, lime juice, and angostura bitters. Traditional Peruvian beverages such as Chicha Morada, made of purple corn, spices, and fruit, and Inca Kola provide a non-alcoholic alternative.

First time sitting in the bar and the service didn’t feel as good as in the main restaurant for getting additional drinks or placing a food order. Food and drinks were still fantastic.

The place was great, great atmosphere, great service, ok drinks, and the food was just ok. I ordered lomo saltado, and knowing Peruvian food the flavors were there but the meat was overcooked and the fries soggy. I also had the chaufa and the rice was overcooked but flavors were there. I would recommend but not with high expectations.

We love La Mar! We live in the neighborhood. But this was our first unpleasant experience there: the host could not find our OT reservation. Then put us in the bar, starting that is where we booked and that may have been the case but we didn’t even know you do reservations in the bar or we would have not booked. We live the bar but for drinks and apps, not dinner. Then the server was very grumpy the entire time. I am hoping he was just having a bad day but he took it out on us and had no customer service. We hope this doesn’t happen again as we have always had a great time there.

One of my favorite restaurants. my husband and I made reservations here for dinner. We were seated at the high bar. Food was delicious and served in perfect quantity. We love seafood, and they make one of the best dishes. The chocolate cake is to die for made with Peruvian chocolate.

Went here for Valentine’s Day. It was super nice, and the food was really good. Took a little while to get the food once we ordered but that’s expected when it’s a holiday. Waitstaff was very nice and again food was delicious.

Love the remodel. Totally different experience than prior to the remodel. New menu is also great. Tried one of everything

This is the third time I go and the service staff is not as attentive nor friendly and I’d like. I ordered rokitas , and they never came and when I reminded that server instead of them apologizing and going back to the kitchen to ask if I wanted them still they simply said sounds good and took it off my tab which is fine however, that is one of my favorite items on the menu, and I was disappointed that I did not get them during my meal.

We ordered Whole Calamari and we were served small squids. The two main dishes arrived at different times, as a consequence we had to share plates in order to eat together. The place is over crowded, even though very nice, clean and romantic. Overall overpriced, I believe. The waitress was extremely nice and professional.

We reserved a table for standard seating for dinner and we’re placed at an awkward bar table with slanted back chairs that prevented us from reaching the table for drinks and food and were unable to talk or hear each other over a DJ with a saxophone. It was bar seating sold as standard dinner seating which made the experience poor.
