Chef Manricos passion is inspired by the love for his home region of Pescara, Abruzzo. The flavors, scents and the colors of the neighborhood, ‘Borgo Marino’, is where his inspiration came from. Cooking in the early mornings on the fishing boats, savoring the smell of the land and sea is where it all began.     La Forchetta has been my go-to restaurant for special occasions since moving to Vancouver 5 years ago. Each time I go the food is better than the last - went here again yesterday evening for a partner’s birthday and our meal was perfect down to the drinks, free birthday sangria, and dessert special (strawberry tiramisu). Always more than enough food to go around especially when sharing, and after an appetizer, 2 pastas, a pizza and dessert we were stuffed and still had food to take home afterwards. You can tell the chef has poured his life into his food and restaurant. The service is always friendly and personable, and the ambience is intimate. Highly recommend!

    Food was very good. Our only concern was the rather small portion sizes. We are used to Italian restaurants where the pasta serving are large. We enjoyed the flavours but left wanting more quantity.

    First time diner, simply said, will come back! 👍😋 Eva and Trevor were outstanding for service, friendliness and the food is classic old school delicious. Yum!

    One of my favourite places to dine at and I love introducing this hidden gem to my friends. Gnocchi with the meat sauce is so delicious and never fails me. Service is top notch and the owners are amazing people wanting to give you a genuine Italian experience. You must try this gem of a restaurant

    Greeted with a smile, enjoyed the gnocchi bolognese which is out of this world, amazing service from Eva as usual and walked out with a huge smile on my face. This is the place for real homemade Italian cuisine.
