We welcome our guests to an authentic Italian restaurant: here we offer traditional cuisine, with a modern take on northern and southern Italian recipes. Mauro, the chef, and his wife Tina, have an huge amount of experience behind them.

Mauro is from Naples, Tina was born in a little sicilian town near by Enna.
He began to learn everything about the southern cuisine by his experience in Naples since he was a child, from “Polipetti alla Luciana” to “Paccheri ai frutti di mare”. Furthermore he moved in Milan and he had the chance to learn the northern cuisine, from “Risotto ai funghi porcini” to “Polenta grigliata”, one of his favourite specialties!
From an ancient sicilian tradition, Tina learnt everything about the desserts by her grandmother and her mother, from “Millefoglie” to “Cannoli cake”.

Awesome made to order Italian...small menu of delicious options with daily specials that actually run out if it is popular...was there Sat. and had a live singer who is excellent.

Happy to dine once again at LaDolce Vita after a long hiatus due to health. Tina and her staff were warm and welcoming. Chef Mauro’s dinner preparations were delicious, including Tina’s low salt bread made especially to accommodate my dietary restriction. My wife and I split Mauro’s lasagna to start (the best in Sarasota) and my Sicilian style snapper stewed in cellophane wrapper was superb. We topped it off with one of Tina’s homemade desserts. What’s better than that?

This is a gem. I have been coming to SRQ since 1979 and I have to say the food here was great and I would say without hesitation that this is the best Italian food in the area. The bruschetta and calamari were great. The latter truly reminded me of my favorite calamaretti dish I get when I’m in Venice (Italy). The bolognese was authentic. The husband and wife team and their family were great hosts and they seemed to really enjoy what they do. It was fun. Don’t be dissuaded by the strip mall location…once inside you totally are in another land.

What a wonderful evening! When we arrived, the lady singing said:”welcome to the family!” We felt a warm and happy inclusion and great service. The food was amazing. The bread was to die for. Our eggplant appetizer was cheesy with a light tomato sauce that was a perfect combination. My wife had pappardelle fungi e salsiccia, a wonderful broad pasta with homemade sausage and mushrooms. So savory. Melted in your mouth. I had a special with large tube pasta the same size as the tender pieces of calamari with a perfect tomato sauce and cherry tomatoes. Wow! So good. We were full but the desserts looked amazing and didn’t disappoint. The tiramisu served in a stemmed heavy parfait glass was literally the best I’ve ever had. The affogato (chocolate gelato drowned in espresso) was fabulous. The owner hugged us as we left. We will definitely be back!! Don’t miss this fun place when in Sarasota!!

Everything we have eaten here has been outstanding. The linguine with the white clam sauce is perfecto! Tina and Mauro made us feel like we were back in Italy. Everything on the menu is delicious. Also, their wine selection is great! We can’t wait to go back.

All meals were excellent, piping hot, service was excellent. On the edge of pricey, particularly the salads. That said, I would go there again.

Just discovered this Italian gem of a restaurant just off Siesta Key. Fabulous homemade pastas and sauces. Very friendly service! I will absolutely return!!

Family vacation, native Bostonians, first time there, ambiance, service and food was fantastic, they make customized drinks and delicious authentic dessert. Talked to the owners who are from Italy and the chef is the husband who cooks everynight. They even run their own bakery. A neighborhood gem that deserves your business!

Absolutely wonderful dinning experience. Hidden gem. Full of a family’s attention, skill and love. So rare in today’s “flipping a table” restaurant motif, serving some far-off investment group.

Small intimate setting. The service is top shelf. Nice wine selection but no other liquor available if you don’t drink wine. Food was very good but portions to price ratio aren’t good. Very clean.

It was wonderful and to have Tina the owner sing with the lounge singer( Friday and Saturday nights) was exceptional special! It made the whole experience great and the btw the food was amazing!

This was our first time here, but the friends with us had been several times before. We loved it. The owner was so welcoming and friendly, service was impeccable, and the food(especially the bread) was all delicious. We almost felt we WERE in Italy!! And then the Lemon cello Crème served at the end put this meal over the top. Highly recommend, even though a bit pricey! It’s worth it.

Thins isn the best Italian restaurant in Sarasota. The quality of the food cannot be matched anywhere. The service is impeccable. Reservations required for the excellent food and service. Once you have been you will return frequently!!!

This place is charming and the service is first rate. The marinara sauce was the best I’ve tasted in Sarasota and the fish in lemon caper sauce was perfectly prepared.

Wonderful food,consistently! I always enjoy the specials and they are a nice add to the great menu. The service is terrific and we always enjoy the Vibe. i love Tina’s homemade bread and desserts are amazing. Tina and her husband Mauro are such great cooks, hosts and great people.

Another amazing dining experience at La Dolce Vita. Tina the owner is delightful and hospitable to everyone who enters but if she knows you and you are a repeat, you are in for a treat. The food is fabulous and healthy choices are available on the daily specials menu. We had Veal, Pasta and Seafood courses and all were excellent. As expected of an authentic Italian restaurant, a comprehensive and affordable wine list. We can’t wait to go back!

An excellent experience from start to finish Homemade bread and wonderful appetizers. The dinners were exceptional. The service off the charts. We had Tina’s homemade dessert and it was wonderful Go and enjoy at night out with Tina and Mauro at La Dolce Vita!!

We had a wonderful friends evening. The salads & entrees were all well prepared & delicious- we all noted that the red sauces were particularly delectable. The fig tart reminded us of dessert we had in Italy. To top it off, there is a singer who performed the entire evening & welcomed patrons to join in. Delightful, cozy traditional Italian restaurant with very fair pricing. Kudos to the owner who welcomed us warmly! Our friends were thrilled & we will definitely return.
