La Cucina Sul Mare in Falmouth serves up a blend of Italian and Mediterranean cuisine prepared by skilled chef and owner, Mark Cilfone. The interior of the eatery is warm and inviting with large hand painted murals, large picture windows that provide a view of busy Main Street and tin ceilings. La Cucina Sul Mare specializes in the preparation of Northern Italian dishes using old world cooking skills.

                                                                                La Cucina has gone downhill. We used to go every few weeks and we stopped going because it stopped being worth it. We went back tonight and it was really disappointing. They recycle the same bad specials over and over again and now charge $7 for the formerly complimentary garlic olive oil spread for the bread. They are always full because it’s one of the few places that take reservations. If you can’t go anywhere else, it’s a decent place to go, but it really isn’t worth the money.

                                                                                I’m not sure the halibut was halibut, but it was too mushy and overly flavored with lemon and basically inedible. My spouse’s ravioli was okay, but not anything special. It was our worst meal in our 4 days in Falmouth.

                                                                                May 25 2024 Frequent diners. Food consistent and very good. Service efficient and pleasant. Extremely noisy. So much so that we know several people who won’t dine there for that reason.

                                                                                The staff was friendly and extremely attentive without making us feel rushed and the food was excellent. We were there for a late dinner so unfortunately we skipped the appetizers and went straight to dinner, but can’t wait to go back and try some. I had the veal marsala which was tender, cooked perfectly and in one of the best marsala sauces I have ever tasted. My partner ordered the short rib cacciatore over risotto. Another incredible dish with just the right amount of everything to create a cacciatore sauce with fresh flavors, fall off the bone short ribs that pairs perfectly with the risotto. The desserts are also delicious and should not be skipped. Chocolate mousse is light and flavorful and the chocolate praline cake is out of this world. Excellent food, great service, if you like Italian, you should add La Cucina Sul Mare to your list when visiting Falmouth.

                                                                                Dining at La Cucina Sul Mare is always a wonderful experience. The food is great, service attentive without being overbearing, and the ambience a taste of la dolce vita. One very very minor quibble with the selection of Sauvignon Blancs by the glass. There are so many good ones out there — Crowded House and Emmolo simply aren’t it. Again, this is a great spot - we never miss it when we are on the Cape.

                                                                                We ordered the Veal Saltimboca our favorite dish. We also ordered a bottle of wine and salad The waiter struggled moving the cork. This appeared to be an obvious training issue. The salads are at the same time as the entire which we were forced to eat before it got cold. The worst problem was the normally juicy veal was overcooked and dry.
