Tucked into the upper story of a delightfully faded building in Chinatown, Kissa Tanto invites you into the little jewel that is the House of Plenty. First we will eat! Such supreme satisfaction we take from the delicate flavours of Japan and the warmth of ltalian cooking and feel it’s right to bring these culinary forces together to do a little dance. Why not? Soul mates are they not with their mutual love of noodles, rice, and proteins in their pure, delicious uncooked form? Think of the cool elegant crudo and cruda, crisp exotic salads, playful pastas, and rich, tender meats that we shall sink our teeth into. And whilst doing so, we will drink! We will wipe the dust off of the My Private Tokyo, inhale the burgundy scent of Barolo, sip tiny glasses of fine sake, and down chilly glasses of beer.

Worth the wait! Excellent ambiance and service. The menu had unique Italian-Japanese flavour fusions that was all delicious. The cocktails were great and beautifully presented as well. Can’t wait to come back and try the omakase experience!

It was our first time at Kissa Tanto and I have to say it lived up to expectations. The food was outstanding. Lots of variety, and the sharing approach was enjoyable as we got to try a bit of quite a few dishes. Service was impeccable. It is expensive, but worth it!

Food was ok flavor wise, the udon pasta was delicious. Everything else was ok. Service was 10/10 and the place was beautiful.

We enjoyed an absolutely unforgettable meal at Kissa Tanto!! Every item was unique and perfectly presented....and delicious!! We especially loved the descriptions given by the servers...colourful and enthusiastic! A triumph!

They seemed to have changed reservation systems. We tried to modify our reservation and it never worked. Now they want to charge us a $200 fee for not showing up.

Amazing meal and amazing service!! Our server was extremely sweet and accommodating. We were able to do the entire tasting menu gluten free! It was truly incredible and we will be back whenever we visit Vancouver. The ambiance is warm and cozy and the drinks are fantastic! The absolute best gin and tonic I’ve ever had. Our favorite dishes were the Japanese style omelette with crab (the best I’ve ever had) and the chocolate & raspberry dessert but everything was truly fantastic.

Food did not disappoint. Everything was delicious. However prices went up and portions shrinked. Our octopus salad is now tiny and our favourite fish costs from $75 to $90. We always go here for my daughter's birthday and she always got a dessert on the house. Not this time. We had to pay for it. We ended up with a bill close to $500 for a party of 3 (after tip) so the fact that they could not gift a birthday dessert this time sounds petty. I just wish that they would honour loyal clients.

Visited from out of town and the experience at Kissa Tanto was unmatched at any of the other restaurants I visited. I can’t recommend this place enough. The tartare was particularly tasty and the cocktails were excellently crafted. 100/10

Wonderful subtle flavours of each dish we tried. My cocktail was great as well. The service was excellent, very helpful. Don't be put off by the area or unprepossessing entrance! Book early as the tables are soon taken. It was full for the first sitting.

Service here cannot be beat. Make sure and get the omokase for the best of the menu. And the wine or sake pairing. Worth every penny.

The atmosphere, food and service were very good. The prices are too high, about $ 500 for party of two, food and three cocktails, but overall everything was great.

Had the chef's menu with pescatarian as a requirement. First course arrived with containing pork sausage. After that initial miscommunication, everything was excellent, including a change to the wine order.

Our server Chloe made this a happy memorable occasion; friendly and able to get us out in time to make theatre reso. We shared delightful stuffed olives, spagettoni and tarjin noodles. Octopus salad was well presented but lacking in taste and too rubbery. Bottled sparkling water gratis - a big bonus in my books. Definitely worth its Michelin star.

Food, service, ambiance, all of it was amazing. We ordered from the a la carte menu and the food had great flavours, and everything cooked to perfection. My favourite dish was their pasta special with mushrooms and braised beef. My only suggestion (and the server did tell us), was that the Saba and Copa mains were on the small side, so if the intent is to share, these look more like single serves. This place is on the pricier side for the amount of food, but the quality is definitely there.

I came from LA to Vancouver, and Kissa Tanto wowed me with impeccable service, stunning design, and culinary excellence. The chef's warm greeting and attention, alongside the unforgettable Japanese truffle omelette, made it an A+ experience.

everything was great, just a bit pricey for the amount of food. We were still hungry when we left and the bill was high ($150/person). I'm wondering if it might also be that the food isn't overly rich.. which is actually nice. great dining experience overall though!

Kissa Tanto blew me away, once again. The servers were so knowledgeable and engaging. We sat at the bar and felt like it was a whole experience, rather than a meal. Cocktails are ace, the food is exceptional. Looking forward to exploring the new cocktail bar downstairs when it opens!

I've been Cooking professionally for 17 years and this is the best dinner/service/food I have ever had. They definitely deserve the Michelin star. I'll be back soon.

This is a very unique experience in the city and in my opinion, worth the wait with very inventive food and a great cocktail menu that remains accessible despite the high quality spirits. When a place has incredible basics (roast chicken, a tartare style cruda, and even a G&T that is unique), you know the other dishes will stay on your mind for a while.
