KIBOU Japanese restaurant and bar in Cambridge is a chic new addition to the city, and the perfect spot to enjoy a leisurely lunch or dinner.
Located at 7a Jesus Lane, home to the Pitt Club, and formerly Pizza Express, the venue features eye-catching murals and digital animations, alongside stunning Japanese floral and foliage installations.
Light and airy, The Mirror Room centres around a large Japanese cherry blossom tree, whilst the seductive Oak Room focuses on a large wisteria tree set against a backdrop of plush fabrics and artwork.
There’s also a relaxed cocktail lounge and dining area, featuring an open sushi and hot kitchen, and a standalone spirits and cocktail bar.
The menu has all your favourite dishes from Japan, including steaming bowls of ramen, a selection of bao buns, crisp tempura and handmade spiced pork gyoza, plus work of art sushi and sashimi sharing platters, seasonal specials and A5 Grade Japanese wagyu.
Their Japanese-inspired afternoon tea is a must try too!

    Overall the venue was great, food was excellent and service was great. To the totally enjoyed our meal there and the sushi was fresh and delicious.

    Was a bit nervous having booked for a birthday lunch and then reading some reviews, but I shouldn't have been as everything was great, no long waits and no rush. Good freshly made tasty sushi pleasant staff and a nice setting. Thanks for a successful birthday surprise lunch.

    This restaurant is absolutely stunning inside, the decor really is something, there’s clearly been a strong attention to detail when decorating. The food was incredible, really flavoursome and delicious. We will definitely visit again. Prices were reasonable.

    Food was great but service was very slow , potentially a one off but food took ages to come , we were then rushed to order our mains. Could be great but service needs addressing

    It was our first time at Kibou and they did not disappoint. We tried their the uramaki (salmon and avacado), wagyu tataki (which was delicious- very expensive though), and another nigiri as starters. Their teriyaki salmon was just right for my liking which was not too sweet and salty. My husband says his chicken katsu curry was really good but he still prefers wagamama's. Their green tea infused creme brulee was interesting (I didn't like it- as don't like green tea) but my daughter loved it. They also brought an extra dessert to celebrate our family birthday. We were in the mirror room. We loved the ambience, will try the oak room next.

    We had a really great time, the vibe, food and service were all excellent. I'm not local to the area, but I'd definitely go back.

    Great atmosphere and the restaurant is nicely designed. Felt rushed at times to eat with the waiters coming over a lot to ask if we had finished. The food was tasty and there is a variety of options.
