At KELP we take our time to make sure the food that goes on your plate is a fresh and local as possible. We source our seafood to be specifically Scottish and sustainable. We pride ourselves on using local suppliers for all our food. The fish people supply our fresh seafood daily. Our bread comes from Soja bakehouse, a family owned bakery in Cumbernauld. Our meat comes from ABR butchers, based in Bearsden.
Our executive chef, Christopher Hutchison, creates amazing, innovative dishes to be enjoyed and shared with friends and loved ones. We now have an AA rosette for 2023/2024 to highlight his and the teams amazing work. We are located on Cowcaddens Road, just around the corner from our sister restaurant, Ardnamurchan Restaurant and Bar and a stones throw from the theatre royal. Perfect for a meal before a show. Relax in our modern, airy restaurant and watch the chefs work in the open kitchen. Our signature dish is our crab doughnut, you'll be amazed!

Delicious food. Small plates seem like they might not fill you up, but they do - and every one was very tasty. The serving staff were really friendly and funny, without being intrusive. A really lovely (early) evening.

Really inventive dishes using what seemed like very fresh seafood. The famous crab doughnut was good, but the smoked trout was our favorite. Don’t miss the scallop roe “snack”. Our server made a good suggestion for a wine that would complement the variety of dishes. It was a wonderful meal.

First time to visit Kelp but will be back. There is an excellent selection of food and drinks. The fish dishes were very nice with a nice range of sauces to create lovely flavours to enjoy.

Market Menu gave good choice of alternative dishes, each one providing an interesting variety of complementary flavours. Market menu is competitively priced, and well prepared and presented. Service staff are very friendly, helpful, and efficient. Thoroughly recommended.

You lost a star for service, it would've been two but the food was fantastic. You lost a second star for cleanliness. The floor underneath my table was filthy. Initially I was going to give a pass and then I looked up and saw the webs intertwined with the foliage my wife always tells me not to look up but i can't help it. I get it, you're busy but don't have foliage if you aren't going to dust it and don't seat people at tables with crap on the floor great meal but the establishment missed the service and clean marks. I had the scallops, crab donut and the gnocchi with mushrooms. My eyes are always bigger than my stomach but I couldn't help myself and needed to try all of the things. The scallops came out first and are paired well with a puff rice and topped with leeks. Very balanced and the scallops weren't overcooked. The crab donut literally tastes like a crab donut. Imagine pieces of crab inside of a sweet ball of dough. Probably an odd description but the combination reminded me of a crab beignet. There's also a hint of spice so if you don't like spice you may want to skip. The star of the show is the mushroom gnocchi. The sauce that it sits in tastes like heaven. The gnocchi is homemade and has a different texture and taste from what I'm accuaccustomed to. It's almost like a crunchy diced potato. The mushrooms and the sauce alone killed this dish and I could just eat them alone. Every time I try to end my review they somehow do something to alter my thoughts. My glass of wine is 75% full and you don't ask if I want dessert you just drop a check on the table ‍ yep you just lost another star. I personally wouldn't return based on the service alone.

The food here was absolutely unreal - we finished everything and even found it hard to choose what to have (which just means we’ll need to go back!) The portions were a great size as sometimes the share plates can be quite small but here it was really good value for money. The service was great, friendly staff, We can’t wait to return definitely one of our new favs,

Lovely food and great service. It does say small plates, but I felt the portion sizes were very small and left still feeling hungry. Will know next time to order a bit more.

We finished our holiday, with our last dinner at Kelp. Every dish was unique and delicious! Our server was attentive and knowledgeable. A truly spectacular meal and end to our travels. Kelp, you were grand!

We got a lovely window seat, the food was stunning. I’m not a huge fan of fish but this was amazing. We had Oysters to start, the 4 small plates crab, scallops, squid and chicken plus 2 sides and it was enough…… crab was my favourite. We managed to squeeze in a couple of desserts which were as nice as the main meals. We will definitely return.

Fantastic lunch at Kelp. The best food we’ve had for a long time, served by friendly and efficient staff. Beautifully presented ‘small plates’ which tasted great. Will definitely be back soon.

The food is excellent with severl small plates to choose from, which means that you don't have to take a chance on ordering a big plate of something new! We had the scallops, the trout, the mackeral and the brocolli with feta. All excellent! Will definitely be back.

The staff were very attentive (when required). The table next to a window was excellent and the low background noise level allowed us (group of 4) to hold an unhindered conversation. The food was to the taste of the majority although I would have preferred more options without spices.

Food was great. Service was a little ‘reserved’ for the buzzy atmosphere they venue seemed to want to create. Could have gone with a manager welcoming guests and directing staff. I would return again though.

We visited 5th Apr 24 for an anniversary celebration. The food was outstanding as was the service. Each one of the small plate dishes (we had four between two) were absolutely amazing, and the oysters for a starter were all fantastic. The flavour combinations of the dishes was out of this world. We will be back when next in Glasgow Mark and Orla

My partner and I came for an early dinner to Kelp. The service was great - thank you for looking after us, Juro! - the food was exceptional, and the overall atmosphere was pleasant. We’ll be coming back!
