At KELP we take our time to make sure the food that goes on your plate is a fresh and local as possible. We source our seafood to be specifically Scottish and sustainable. We pride ourselves on using local suppliers for all our food. The fish people supply our fresh seafood daily. Our bread comes from Soja bakehouse, a family owned bakery in Cumbernauld. Our meat comes from ABR butchers, based in Bearsden.
Our executive chef, Christopher Hutchison, creates amazing, innovative dishes to be enjoyed and shared with friends and loved ones. We now have an AA rosette for 2023/2024 to highlight his and the teams amazing work. We are located on Cowcaddens Road, just around the corner from our sister restaurant, Ardnamurchan Restaurant and Bar and a stones throw from the theatre royal. Perfect for a meal before a show. Relax in our modern, airy restaurant and watch the chefs work in the open kitchen. Our signature dish is our crab doughnut, you'll be amazed!

We loved Kelp so much that we had dinner two nights in a row. Really delicious seafood! The preparations are so creative and tasty. Over the course of both dinners we had the scallops, langoustine, crab donut, mussels, cod special, smoked trout, bean salad, roasted potatoes, and gem Caesar salad. Every dish was so unique and a refreshing change from other less notable fare.

Fantastic restaurant, a real gem of a find for us. Food excellent and staff attentive and friendly - what’s not to like?

We had the Market Menu (set menu) at 5.30pm before a concert. The quantities were just right for us, but we're not huge eaters so those with big appetites might want to add a dish or two from the A La Carte. Everything was delicious, including the Portuguese white wine. Service was very good, and we had plenty of time, without being rushed, to get to our 7.30 concert. We thought the Market Menu excellent value and would happily try the more expensive options later in the evening. Wouldn't want to sit outside early evening - too near the main road - but perhaps it's quiet enough later.

Friendly team but forgot one order and the food was tasty but small plates are really too small to the extent that they can't really be shared and not worth the price charged.
