Just completing its first year on the dining scene in Telluride, Kazahana offers classic Japanese cuisine prepared by Chef Naoki Takahashi and his team. Sourcing the freshest seafood from around the world, the menu includes sushi rolls, nigiri, sashimi, chirashi, tartar and ceviche, as well as a selection of salads and hot entrees. Beverage options include Japanese inspired cocktails, whiskey, beer, and a top notch selection of sake and wine. The 10-seat Omakase Bar features a 18 course chef's choice tasting menu with optional sake and wine pairings. Kazahana offers happy hour 5-6pm featuring sushi and rotating drink specials.

Kazahana is a great option for your next private event. The main dining room will seat up to 40 guests, and add the omakase bar to book the entire lower level for your private group of 50. Omakase at Kazahana is an elegant and formal dining experience served in a beautiful space. Chef Naoki Takahashi will prepare 18+ courses using the finest seasonal ingredients available in the world. Omakase literally translates to "I leave it up to the Chef", so diners will not need place an order. Cocktails, fine wine and sake are available from your server at additional cost. Wine and Sake pairings designed by Beverage Director Colin O'Neill are also available. Reservations are available anytime from 5pm to 830pm for up to 6 guests. Omakase dining with Chef Nao will be an unforgettable dining experience.

Absolutely outstanding 15-course omakase experience last night with Chef Tony Huang. Food quality, ambience, service all world class. Exceeds anything we experienced in Japan, NYC, LA, etc. A real triumph of hospitality. Thank you for a memorable evening. Will definitely return.

Excellent Japanese dining experience. Super fresh and delicious fish. Thalia was very knowledgeable and helped us navigate the menu. Seared scallop sashimi was absolutely divine. It’s not easy on the wallet but definitely worth it for a special occasion or a splurge.

We eat sushi often and this is some of the best sushi we have ever had. Wine list excellent too. Sesame old fashioned seemed a little heavy on the sesame.

The quality of the food was excellent. However, staff was very confused about the menu and what cocktails were available. As noted, the sushi rolls were high quality and fresh. Owner needs to assess staff so customers have a better overall experience.

Food is excellent and staff are well meaning. More training is required for wait staff and a maitre d is needed in a restaurant of this quality. When I made reservation I told them we were celebrating a birthday and no recognition was given by staff. Also not good to start your welcome with everything that is not available on the menus. But food was excellent and wait staff worked hard but training needed.

Phenomenal food, service, and overall culinary experience. We did the 18-course Omakase and every dish was prepared to perfection. Will definitely be returning.

This is such an amazing restaurant. The service was excellent, seafood options were incredibly fresh and the cocktails were very well made. Can’t wait to come back to Telluride just to eat here again. This place is a must for everyone who enjoys this style of food.

The omakase seating was incredible. Took my adult children there. The private area off to the side was a plus. The chefs were excellent and the food was outstanding. Some of us chose the wine pairings which were very well chosen and added to the overall experience. The service was excellent, and the food was phenomenal. It is a bit pricey but with the quality of the ingredients, it is understandable. Would highly recommend.

We dined on a winter Monday not knowing if/when their fresh deliveries were. Everything we ate was very delicious and fresh. The salmon sashimi were nice size chef cuts. The yellowtail was particularly excellent. We ordered 2 soft shell crab rolls (different) and the chef's special with a little mild onion on top was the stand out (both excellent to be clear). We both started with a spinach miso which was perfectly prepared with plenty of spinach and far from salty. Very nice meal in a difficult to reach ski town. I enjoyed a very nice cold sake glass as well. Worst thing you can say which of course we expect was the $$$$ and the insulting 4% blah blah blah added charge which it seems all of the better Telluride restaurants add. I resent it. Charge what you want up front in your food cost but don't nickel and dime your "guests" and then ask for another 20-25% tip for the exact same purpose. Pay your workers well and add the cost to the food. No problem.

Fresh sushi and flavorful dishes. We enjoyed the black cod and lobster risotto (although a bit too many mushrooms for our taste). The yellowtail jalepeno would have been nice to have the same amount of fish but thinner sliced sashimi - the pieces were generously thick but I think this dish is best prepared thinly sliced - but that’s really just a personal preference.

Kazahana is by far our favorite restaurant in Telluride. Since it opened, my partner and I have been several times, always feel taken care of by the whole staff and have never tried any menu item there without being blown away. We enjoyed the most delicious Omakase dinner curated and served by Chef Naoki for a birthday celebration this week. The whole presentation was incredible - my favorite part being the matcha mochi ice cream!!!

Been here 5 times. Previous was excellent. This time not so much. Host was great. Fixed a Resi error for us. Cordial. The waiter was rushed. Has very little knowledge abt menu Not impressed. Food was ok but nothing special. Kazahana needs to pick it up. Food that I had was really over priced. I’ll give it one more try. Won’t be back if it’s the same.

So walking in. I was expecting the usual sushi restaurant… but the warmth of the bartenders and the chefs not to mention the wait staff were impeccable and the sushi made by Tony and Travis was absolutely off the charts … we will be returning for their Omakase!! And a huge shout out to Kevin and amazing bartender who was willing to create new drinks !

This is the second time we have eaten at Kazahana. It is top notch and fantastic. The service is impeccable, the atmosphere is terrific, and the food is amazing. We have never tried the entrees and always get the sushi, sashimi, etc. and it has always been fabulous. Be prepared to shell out quite a few dollars at this place but it is worth the splurge. Highly recommend.
