In 1998, Buddy Guindon, his wife Katie, and his brother Kenny opened Katie's Seafood Market in Galveston, Texas. For more than 20 years now, Katie's Seafood Market has provided the highest quality of products available to its customers. The majority of seafood comes from local fishermen and shrimpers, including Red Snapper, Grouper, Golden Tile Fish, Flounder, Oysters, Shrimp, and Blue Crabs. A producer contacted Guindon in the hopes of doing a reality show about his family business. In 2015, the reality show 'Big Fish Texas' came to life on National Geographic. As a supporter of the local economy, In September of 2019, Buddy opened Katie’s Seafood House, next to the market. Katie’s seafood market supplies the restaurant with all fresh seafood. We take pride in being the only local seafood restaurant on the island that brings fresh fish straight from the boat and to your table.

Needed a place for quick dinner after long day and this was great. Waitstaff was attentive and explained the menu in detail. Had nice conversation with Chef as well. We’ve been going here since it was Hill’s and never disappoints.

The restaurant has always been our favorite and we can tolerate the noise level when we dine there. However , the new parking situation is intolerable. They have taken away the only parking lot nearby the restaurant and it is very difficult to get one We will most likely not dine there as the It’s very frustrating now to park. And takes patience that someone will Be leaving so that you may nab a place.

It was very crowded, smelled bad outside when walking up and inside restaurant was really hot. The doors need air conditioning on them to stop heat coming through.

We ate out on the patio area for an early lunch, we had a nice breeze and not too hot yet! Excellent service, fresh food and very relaxing experience. The blackened snapper was perfect, fried asparagus and mashed red potatoes were also excellent. We will definitely be back, it could not have been any better!

Katies seafood is a must visit. Anytime I go to Galveston my trip isn’t complete until I eat here.

We were in Galveston for 3 nights and ate dinner twice at Katie’s. The first night we both enjoyed the catch of the day prepared the chef’s way. Outstanding!!! Ate lighter the second night but was just as impressed. Will be back the next time we are in town.

Best seafood restaurant in Houston/Galveston area! Food is always delicious, service is always great but acoustics are really lacking it’s difficult to have a conversation while eating especially if sat next to loud tables.
