We won’t be returning. Tea was cold, food was underwhelming. Flavorless, tiny portions. Server was pushy. Meh

We discovered this restaurant about two years ago and have just loved it. Recently their amazing Japanese chef had to leave and they hired a new chef who ended up changing the menu. We went there last night and they did not have any of our favorite dishes on the menu anymore. The wine list is now shorter also. We decided to settle and compromise on the dishes on the limited menu. We tried four different dishes, all of which were mediocre at best. We are not impressed. It was expensive for food that was just meh. We will likely not return unless they go back to the old menu.

We drove to this restaurant for date night from Brentwood. When we were seated we noticed very loud buzzing noise coming from the vents/ air conditioner. We decided to stay and just order since we drove to try this restaurant. Our waiter was very nice and attentive and gave us a few recommendations on drinks. We ordered a few drinks, two appetizers and our main dishes. I have to say I was pretty disappointed and underwhelmed with the flavors and portions of our meal. All in all this isn't one I would recommend or be running back to revisit.

We came to celebrate my husband’s birthday. Started with pork belly skewers & romaine miso salad that’s like a Caesar’s salad. Both tasted fine but nothing special. Husband had the grilled salmon, which also tasted ok but honestly, my husband’s home-grilled salmon is better & he can make the salmon skin crispier. I had the miso black cod, which was served on a bed of berry couscous. I didn’t care for this flavor profile & neither my husband nor I liked this black cod preparation. I much prefer the misoyaki black cod I’ve had at Japanese restaurants. Our server was very nice & the restaurant gave us a complimentary chocolate pate de bombe to celebrate my husband’s birthday, a chocolate mousse dessert that was very good with a rich, chocolate flavor & I liked the chocolate wafer pearls mixed with the mousse. This our favorite dish of the night. Maybe the other items on the menu were better but overall, we weren’t impressed with the food. Restaurant setting was nice though.

This is my new go to foodie restaurant. I have been bringing different groups of friends and the coming up reservation will probably be my fifth time there. The food is wonderful and so creative. The bartender is great. He creates all these wonderful drinks and he’s very knowledgeable. I love going there because it’s such a great experience and everyone I bring has loved it too!

Cocktails were a perfect beginning along with tempura green beans. For the entrees, we had the miso cod and prawn dishes. Both were excellent.

Food is ok, menu is a bit limited. The menu listed a lychee lemonade (non alcoholic), I asked if they could make lychee martini and our server said no. Then I ordered a side car which she didn’t know what that was and asked what alcohol I wanted in it- I said the bartender should know how to make. Also there was a conditional tag on the window from health inspector. There are plenty of really good places in Danville, unfortunately this isn’t one in our opinion.

Kaori serves excellent cuisine and their manager, staff and servers are always personable, efficient and knowledgeable. We dine there regularly and have consistently enjoyed the experience. The food is prepared with care and the Black Cod, Prawns, Bento and Blue Fin Tuna are all standouts. The dishes are beautifully prepared with unique flavor profiles and presentation. The cocktails and wine list pair wonderfully with the Asian flavors.

Always a great place to have some fabulous Japanese food! It has a trendy and chic vibe with food that matches in elegance, presentation, and taste. One of my favorites in Danville!

Food here was wonderful everything was well prepared and presentation was awesome. Will definitely be back, love the black cod miso and the ramen was really good love the broth.
