This was the loudest restaurant I have ever been to. Pounding music. More a club atmosphere than a restaurant. The service was good, food ok but definitely not a place to hold a conversation.

A Taco Tuesday Symphony: A Night at Kalaveras The air crackled with a festive energy on my recent pilgrimage to Kalaveras on a hallowed Taco Tuesday, May 7th, 2024. Here, they orchestrate a symphony of flavors unlike any other, a Taco Tuesday deal that sent this seasoned gourmand into raptures. Each perfect taco, a mere $.99, was a melody of deliciousness, a price tag that should be enshrined in a museum – a delicious relic of a bygone era! For herbivores like myself (a devotee since 1993, no less!), Kalaveras is a haven. Their vegan options, a chorus of textures and tastes, are a testament to culinary creativity. The earthy symphony of the mushroom taco and the sweet potato's saccharine embrace offered a delightful counterpoint to each other. Brandaleen, my server, orchestrated a flawless dining experience from the very beginning. Upon learning of my savvy OpenTable reservation (a service I highly recommend!), the friendly host whisked me to my preferred booth. Brandaleen, arriving with the grace of a maestro, seemed to anticipate my every need. Before I could even settle in, she presented my order, an impressive feat that spoke volumes about their attentiveness. The taco bar itself was a cornucopia of culinary delights. Brandaleen (yes, she continued to weave her magic throughout the evening!), the taco maestro, delivered my perfectly timed creations as needed – fresh and warm from the kitchen, a sight that would make any photographer weep with frustration (their vibrancy defied mere lenses!). The included toppings bar, a visual feast in itself, allowed me to personalize my tacos to a heart's content: a chorus of fresh onions and cilantro, seasoned red onions adding a touch of dramatic flair, a trio of hot sauces for the adventurous palate, and a supporting cast of vibrant peppers, radishes, cucumber, and – a delightful surprise! – sliced cabbage, a textural counterpoint that added a welcome layer of intrigue. Was finally able to get my wife to this place for Happy Hour!! We were greeted by a really nice guy at our arrival, immorality seated, even gave my wife a choice of where, she did pick ...LOL. Told him First time and for Happy hour!! He was very informative and assisted us the whole time (we did have a waiter, but he seemed to be taking care of us for the most part). The key here, is my wife loved all the food we got, we ordered; Cheese Nachos, Birria Tacos, the three taco plate (one of each) chips, salsa and wings. Two Draft beers (they have SPACE DUST!!!) and one marg, $57 before tip. We were there from 4-5, not busy but not slow either. Noice level is high but not annoying. TV screens playing all kinds of Hispanic music my wife kept having childhood flashbacks and in love!! Had a great time, can't wait to go back

A Symphony of Spice: Kalaveras' Taco Tuesday Marina del Rey's culinary scene boasts gems aplenty, but Kalaveras Restaurant shines brightest on Taco Tuesdays. My visit on April 30th solidified this notion. Their siren song: all-day tacos, a symphony of flavors for a price that whispers of simpler times – a mere $.99 each! For those who tread the vegan path (myself since 1993), Kalaveras offers a verdant oasis. Their vegan mushroom and sweet potato tacos are delectable odes to the plant kingdom. Juan, my server, orchestrated a flawless experience. Upon learning of my OpenTable reservation (a maestro of convenience!), the friendly host ushered me to my preferred booth. Juan, arriving with the grace of a seasoned conductor, took my order. The star of the show, however, was the taco bar, a smorgasbord of deliciousness. Juan delivered my perfectly timed tacos, warm and fragrant from the kitchen. Imagine, dear reader, a blank canvas upon which you paint your own culinary masterpiece. The toppings bar, a cornucopia of delights, allowed me to do just that: fresh-chopped onions and vibrant cilantro, seasoned red onions, a fiery trio of hot sauces, a medley of peppers, cool radishes and cucumber, and a revelation – sliced cabbage, a textural delight unseen before. Each bite, a fiesta for the senses. Kalaveras' attentive staff, the delectable fare, and the vibrant atmosphere are a harmonious blend, a symphony that must be experienced. I added that it was my daughter’s birthday on the reservation, and it was NEVER acknowledged! The waitress hardly spoke to us or offered her opinion, nor asked what brought us in. SMH Poor customer service.
