I came here 10 years ago and had the tuna spareribs and literally couldn’t think of Tokyo without thinking about this meal. I brought my partner with me and had a set meal and EVERYTHING was soooo tasty!

I had a very good meal with my bestie. The prawns, crab cream, the tuna cheek and beef were delicious. For sure will recommend frens to visit.

We had an exceptional time at Kaikaya. Enjoyed the food immensely- flavors and choices were fantastic (tsuki meal for 2!). The owner and his family made our visit very special. The restaurant is located on a fantastic scenic walking street in Shibuya.

The food is really bad. Especially their baked creamy scallop rice and overcooked salmon rice roll. Too overpriced for these low quality food. Service: The staff there kept rushing us to finish our meal quickly so they could seat the next group of customers！

This was easily the best place we ate during our entire trip to Japan. The food was mind-blowing, incredibly original and delicious. The staff was also incredible — welcoming and helpful in understanding the menu. We will definitely come again!!!

We were recommended this spot by a friend and it did not disappoint! We went to the "wrong side" of the restaurant -- for this reservation, it's on the left side when facing the building. I'm not sure if that's set upon the day or what, but just a note. They're also quite popular, so be sure to actually make a reservation or you may, like many spots in Japan, be turned away for the evening. We tried going earlier in our trip and didn't realize we needed one. The food, staff, and vibe was so fun and energetic. I think based on this reservation, which I did not know until showing up, it required a prefix or set meal, and there were a few to chose from. We think it was pricey, but it was very good and the US dollar is very strong at the moment. Since we were on our honeymoon, it did't matter too much. Now that we've been, we'll surely be back on our next visit. It was much different of a vibe that other more quiet, reserved spots. Lively and fun!

Know before you go: if you make a reservation using OpenTable or another app, you will only be able to order a set course menu made for tourists. There is no à la carte ordering and your entire party will have to order the same menu. Although the food is copious and plentiful the dishes are a hit and miss. That said this is a small restaurant with friendly and attentive staff and a nice atmosphere.

The food was very fresh. The portions were just nice and the ambience, despite small set up, was vibrant and exciting. Despite the noise, we could talk amongst our table. Would return to it the next time

Really tasty food. Good variety in the set menu. If you book on opentable, you must get a set menus. But the prices are good, the service super welcoming. I booked this for our last night in Tokyo and it was a meal to remember.

Everybody at this restaurant was so kind, attentive, and next-level energetic. They went out of their way to address our food allergy concerns and even offered to take a picture of our group for us outside of the restaurant! We highly recommend this place and will definitely be back!

Family ran restaurant with the best food and amazing service. The staff was super friendly and helpful, their English was appreciated. The food was all fresh, amazing ingredients. One of the best dining experiences ever. Love this place!

The restaurant is so small I highly recommend a reservation! I think we had at least 10 courses for dinner. They were all delicious! The staff were so helpful and fun! We loved every minute of our dining experience here and can’t wait to come back.

Such a lively place. Waiter was super courteous and helpful. Aside from a few loud and drunk “foreign” customers, the place was an almost flawless dining experience. The food was amazing and the prices were very affordable. Would definitely visit again.

Tuna rib was amazing, lively sometimes loud atmosphere, but that's the point! Really stands out in a good way. Very different from the typical reserved and quiet atmosphere. Lots of celebrity pictures and signatures on the walls, sat underneath a little Doodle and signature by Jack Black. Had one of the set menus and everything was good especially the wagyu and tuna rib
