Kachka features an award-winning menu of post-soviet inspired dishes including famous dishes such as the Herring under a fur coat, Rabbit in a clay pot, dumplings and much more. The restaurant is an homage to the dishes our chef/owner grew up eating. Kachka is open for indoor onsite dining. Walk-in lounge and bar seating are also available.

Our Lavka grocery is open from 11am-9pm daily with counter service ordering from our Lavka cafe and deli available from 11-3. Seating is first come first serve on our upper patio or indoor lounge tables.

We have proudly replaced tipping with a 22% service fee in order to provide a base wage of $25 per hour and free healthcare for all employees. More information is available at kachkapdx.com/wage-equity

I love this space, and the food is incredible! My wife and I try to eat healthy, and there were so many healthy and delicious options. We didn't feel like we had to sacrifice great taste to enjoy great food. We especially loved the pickled cauliflower and Siberian pelmeni (beef, pork, and veal dumplings), and the dirty martini with beet juice was atypical and amazing!

Great service and gorgeous restaurant! Didn’t think much of the $30 for Doritos/ caviar and the happy meal (nuggets and burger) fell short. Still worth a try! I’ve had better meals here.

We had an amazing experience! We decided on the russki zakuski experience, the food was impeccable. If you’re on the fence about what to order or want to try something new I’d recommend the experience for the entire table.

I dined alone at Kachka, ordered Rabbit in a Clay Pot, and I enjoyed my meal very, very much. It's not something I would have made at home. While the dinner was very well-executed and served with friendliness and professionalism, it was expensive. The expense reflects "the true cost of dining out" in Portland, 2024, causing it to be more of a special occasion thing for me than it used to be. Kachka does a truly wonderful job in every way, so I will be spending some of my special occasions there!

Went because they advertised a "happy meal" during their happy hour (burger or chicken nuggets and fries). This happy meal was terrible, I think fries from the freezer and thrown into an air fryer would've been of similar or better quality. They were way too salty, the happy meals were a huge disappointment. The other things from their happy hour menu were good though (dumplings). Really disappointed because their food here is typically pretty good. Seemed like their limited time items were to get rid of some free food they received.

The service was friendly and efficient and we liked but didn't love the food. The stuffed cabbage was overly salty (I drank a lot of water all night after that meal) but the rockfish entree was pretty good. Maybe it's better to stick to small plates and dumplings here. I'm not sure I'll return, though - the food simply didn't wow me, despite the reasonable prices.

Honestly everything was really very good , The food was excellent, the attentiveness of the servers was perfect and the entire dining experience was great. We had a selection cold and hot “Zakuski” dishes and a couple of mains to share and everyone was happy (four of us) . The Moldovan eggplant was a table favorite along with the Rabbit in a clay pot and the cheese dumplings. I dont know anything about East European wines but our server’s descriptions were spot on and the prices for bottles were reasonable. The menu actually describes each dish rather well also so that helped.

Ive been to Kachka several times and been impressed by the food and very friendly service. Was disappointed at how rude our server was last night. She was unfriendly, demanding, made us feel bad for not ordering enough food. We ended up ordering as much as she recommended and it was way too much. I understand that servers there don’t work for tips, but may have been helpful in her case.

Great service and great food that's different from the norm. We try to go at least once a month and always have a great experience. Friendly, knowledgeable staff are helpful if someone has a dietary restriction. Great restaurant!

This was our first time here and the experience was excellent! Great service, very attentive and a great vodka list and perfect sized portions to share. The only minor thing was the cabbage rolls were just ever so slightly overcooked but other than that was a place we will definitely be coming back to next year.

Great food! Great help navigating the menu from awesome servers! All the vodka infusions were fantastic. Horse radish and rhubarb are don’t miss! Kachka helped me organize a surprise dinner for 12 people and it was absolutely perfect! The food and drinks were amazing and they were very accommodating for a last-minute seating change. The whole staff was so nice, patient, and helpful. Will keep coming back. Thank you all!!

Kachka is expensive. That is my only criticism. With that stated, it seems to be for good reason given the restaurants decisions on how they treat staff. The food is Fabulous. The service was wonderful. All in all, I love this restaurant. I highly recommend it.

Great food and a menu that you won't find in many other places in the Portland area. Absolutely excellent service, a fun wine list, and if you like vodka, it's definitely a place for you!

Found Kachka while watching Somebody Feed Phil and visited during a recent trip to Portland. A great spot to celebrate our anniversary and try some new and delicious food!

Derek made our experience incredible, but our waiter seemed like she did not want to be there haha. It sullied the mood of the night because of how annoyed she seemed. Still a good night though.

We were skeptical after seeing the online menu and realizing we were using google to translate every other ingredient, but we had a gift card so we thought we’d try. After our meal we couldn’t choose a favorite! Everything about the experience was superior!!
