Disappointing visit, very quiet as only 15 or so people sat eating. A colleague and i shared a Tomahawk .. the price charged £95 was more than we were advised. We waited 20 mins for our starters, then once finished a further 50 mins for our food and requested it to be returned to the kitchen to be reheated as it had clearly been cooked and sat idle in the kitchen, getting cold. Matteo was our waiter, nice to start with, could not be more helpful then his only interest was getting the bill paid, i had not asked for the bill but it was tossed onto our table anyway. 12.5% service charge is included and i was going to request that it be removed... would i visit again, NO ...

Great food but the service was disappointing. Had to ask for more drinks and then saw the drinks being left on the bar for ages before bringing to the table. I’d expect better from a 5* hotel.

While service was good and prices reasonable,food quality was only fair. I had a 10oz NY strip and my companion 6oz fillet. Both steaks were tough. Buttery mashed potatoes were dry and tasteless.

Phenomenal service and food/drinks. I’m still dreaming about my meal! Each bite was a delight, and the presentation just blew us away. The service is top-notch! The staff is friendly, attentive, and goes above and beyond to ensure a memorable dining experience. Kudos to the entire team!

Simply perfect. Cheeseburger super crunchy, chips the kind you desire the day before. Didn’t have space for the cheesecake this time but for sure next time!

The service was first class. Enjoyed the Smoked Salmon and Maryland crab cake. Main course if 10oz filet cooked to perfection and the grill jumbo prawns were very good. Will go back when back in London

This is a good spot for a casual dinner with friends if you are looking for a quality steak, well prepared. We had a porterhouse and a veal chop, both UK sourced and cooked to order. They were very good, although they should be cooked at a higher heat and charred a bit more on outside. Sides just fair: salads are enormous and should be stated 'for the table', not for individual servings; chips were not crispy and a bit underdone. The bernaise sauce for the meat and the blue cheese dressing for the iceberg lettuce were just OK; mine is much better. Wine list is fairly extensive but the selected producers do not impress; it is all a bit overpriced for the selection. American style markups, not European and I object to paying 3 times retail to get a decent bottle of wine. Ambiance is nothing special; it is not elegant at all but is rather rustic. Not a lot of great tables. I requested a table by the window in person a few days ahead of time, but when I arrived it wasn't noted and was told it was reserved for a party in the lounge. They never showed up during the two hours I was there which annoyed me. Biggest problem for me is the chairs are not comfortable. They are much to low--you feel you are on the floor--and the cushions lack adequate support. I changed to a different style at an adjacent table but it was not much better. The waiter acknowledged it was an issue, and really they should spend the ££ to replace all the chairs. All in all, it was a pleasant dinner and I would consider going back. It certainly is better than some of the local competition for a good steak.

Not the best experience at the JW this time round. Service was very disjointed and of course when you’re lunching or dining in a well established high end Steak Restaurant you should be made to feel valued. Having told the restaurant that it was my partners Birthday there was no mention of it as we were seated or anytime during the Meal. We had ordered the Cheesecake for desert and halfway through we get a mini cheesecake with a candle in it delivered to the table, literally with no Happy Birthday. This was only because we had mentioned it. Did we go there for the free mini Cheescake of course we didn’t, we went there because the steak, old fashioned’s and Cheesecake are amazing and you are made to feel special, not today though it seems. Poor showing for the staff and management yesterday for not making my partners meal extra special.

We are in London every three months for business, and our first night’s dinner is always at the JW Steakhouse at Grosvenor House. This restaurant consistently delivers high quality meats and fish cooked as requested and that is difficult for any restaurant to do. Our favorites? Filet mignon with red wine sauce; veal chop; sautéed wild mushrooms side dish; and, of course, the graham cracker based sour cream cheesecake or even the warm brownie pudding with vanilla ice cream. We’re never disappointed.

My 20 year old child and I had the best time at the JW Steakhouse. The service was incredible as was the food. They were amazing in dealing with my child’s celiac. They had gluten free rolls, gluten free steak sauce options, fries, and gluten free chocolate soufflé among other items. We can wait to go back!!! We loved everything about it.

**A Culinary Triumph at JW Steakhouse** I had the pleasure of dining at JW Steakhouse with friends for New Years eve/ birthday party, and the experience was nothing short of spectacular. From the moment we stepped in, we were greeted by an ambiance that effortlessly blends sophistication with warmth. The dim lighting and rustic decor set the perfect tone for an upscale yet inviting evening. Now, let's talk about the star of the show—the food. The menu at JW Steakhouse is a carnivore's dream come true. Every cut of meat is a testament to culinary expertise and a dedication to quality. We opted for the JW burger and tomahawk steak and, was blown away by the perfect sear, tenderness, and rich flavor. The chef's mastery of the grill is evident in every bite. What truly sets JW Steakhouse apart, though, is the impeccable service. The staff were attentive without being intrusive, knowledgeable about the menu, and went above and beyond to ensure our dining experience was flawless. Our server, [sadly I didnt get her name], deserves special commendation for their professionalism and genuine enthusiasm for the menu. The attention to detail extended beyond the cuisine. The drinks selection was impressive, complementing the meal beautifully. The dessert menu was equally tempting, and the cheese cake which was complementary for my friends who were celebrating their birthday was a divine conclusion to an already exceptional dining experience. JW Steakhouse is more than a restaurant; it's an indulgent journey for the senses. Whether you're a steak connoisseur or someone looking for a memorable culinary experience, JW Steakhouse is the epitome of fine dining. I wholeheartedly recommend it and can't wait for my next visit. Excellent service, quality of food and attention to families with small children as always. Nice decoration for Christmas and New Year celebrations made our visit extra special. Special mention to Sotiris who went above and beyond and made sure we had everything we needed on a very busy day for any restaurant (New Years Eve). My wife calls the Grosvenor House our "home away from home" and rightly so. We will surely return to celebrate more of our special family occasions!

The food was great for the price point. We ordered the Tomahawk, 2 filets, the salmon, multiple different sides, & desserts. In addition to the Cabernet Sauvignon- which was the only disappointment, food wise. The service on the other hand was subpar at best. Our waitress didn't seem to know the menu well or how to handle allergies. It took over 30 minutes to get the bill after we asked and she looked at our empty table multiple times. Overall the food was great & the service left much to be desired.

We went there for our anniversary dinner and everything was wonderful, the service at the end was a bit slow which I believe was because it was a busy night. They generously offered us a desert on the house for our anniversary as well which was a nice surprise and very delicious too! We loved our experience and will definitely go back again.

Food and wine was fantastic as always. Value was marked down as the steak seemed slightly over priced off the special board We were there a month before and the steak was £20 more this time for a Porterhouse 1000 (£110) compared to a 900 last time (£90 - we had ordered the 800 and then the 700 but both were sold out so hence went for the 1000). Apart from our waitress, most of the other waiters/waitresses weren't as happy and accommodating as they normally are, there seemed to be a lot of new faces. All in all though, still one of my favourite restaurants and would still recommend. I've always rated them highly on all my previous visits over the years.

Nice food and service. Not very posh and people dressed casually. Would definitely go back for the cheesecake, very tasty.

Second time at this amazing steakhouse. Lovely views of Christmas Wonderland in Hyde park. Brilliant ambience and buzz in the restaurant. Food was very good although much smaller portions than the first time we visited which is a good thing so that we actually enjoyed our starter and main courses. Previous visit, the portions were huge and we were quite full after our starters and as a consequence pushed our mains around the plate, too full to eat and enjoy! We were brought one incorrect starter which was quickly rectified with apologies but I later found we had been charged for. We were also charged for 3 bottles of wine but we had only ordered 2. I did pick up on this and again it was quickly rectified but unfortunately I didn't notice the charge for the incorrect starter. In all I was overcharged approximately £100 which is quite high. I do recall our first visit also had an issue with over charging so maybe worth scrutinising the final bill as this does seem to be a consistence there. Other than this, it is still a fabulous venue.
