Booked for drinks as anniversary celebration. Shown to window seating and was looked after by a lovely young girl who was very chatty and was very attentive.

I always really want to like this place, it used to be a favourite spot but it’s not at all what it used to be. Service really really slow, staff on occasion were abrupt. Drinks menu lacks imagination and d the drink really weren’t all that, with all the competition in Edinburgh Juniper really needs to step up its game!

Very bad service had to check where the drinks where had 2 drinks in 2 hours nobody collecting glasses, just a shambles , if you are in your 30s please go somewhere else this place was terrible

We had drinks in the bar - lovely bay window seating with fab views. The female waitress working Friday night , 16/2, was friendly and attentive. Great to have helpful and friendly staff serve you!

Very pleased with service from start to finish. Beautiful oval window table enabled eventually 8 of us to sit together. A wider snacks menu would be an improvement eg scones or sandwiches but overall a super place to meet.

We were only in for drinks to celibrate my birthday and retirement. The service was just brilliant and we had a great time. The view from our window seat was fantastic.

We did not eat here but had no NA option. Was very cold. Service slow. Nice enough. Expensive, but the cocktails were nice. Busy, glad we booked for after lunch

We didn’t eat, just had some olives which were really good, ambience was good, it was busy and we had or booked a table for drinks. The cocktails were delicious and about what you’d expect to pay for a cocktail in Edinburgh. My only gripe was the service, the girls were lovely and friendly but not particularly attentive with customers having to go to the bar to order drinks rather than the table service it was supposed to be. Yes it’s Christmas and busy but having your back to the customers and larking about with the bar staff whilst customers are sat with empty glasses shouldn’t be happening. That said I do like it here and have been before and would go back.

The drinks and ambience were nice but the service was appalling. Despite three groups of people standing waiting to be seated, around 4 staff members stood at the bar chatting to each other and did absolutely nothing to greet guests. I was catching the eye of staff and they would turn away and ignore - I had to go up to the staff and ask them to help. They were incredibly inattentive and this continued throughout the night, with another group of people at the table next to us making the same complaints when they couldn’t get the attention of any staff to order drinks. Really poor - I couldn’t believe that not one staff member had an ‘eyes up’ approach which is absolutely essential in hospitality and even more so when you’re in a central environment where prices are high. It wasn’t a case of staff being too busy, it was them actively not engaging with customers.

Pleasant experience, staff friendly and helpful,service is a little slow but not a big issue for us. Limited selection of bar food, but what was available was tasty, I would go back.

After we were seated the waitress said she would let us get our coats off then she would come back and take our drinks order. However after passing us numerous times and after 20 minutes I had to go up to the bar to get served. The girl behind the bar was busy making up orders and one male bar staff ignored me. The waitress eventually appeared and took my order. On what would possibly be one of your busiest nights of the year there should have been more bar staff. Our next drink had to be ordered at the bar too and took a while to come.

Food NA. Only drinks. However. I had booked a table in the bar for a lovely ambience but we were given a table in the “corridor” in between the bar and restaurant right opposite the main door which meant we got a draught every time it opened. Not good and meant we had no ambience at all

Despite having a booking for Juniper Bar and looking forward to having a bar meal with my wife , I arrived to be told that they were not serving bar meals as they were too busy with the adjacent restaurant. Unacceptable when a booking had been made and my notification clearly showed a sample bar menu. Under no circumstances can I recommend this bar or the adjacent Twenty Restaurant.

We were advised it was table service only, but had to wait 35mins from arriving to order then another 10mins for drinks by which time we only had 5mins before we had to leave, there was no apology offered and we had to ask for our drinks to be given free of charge as we wouldn’t have time to finish them. Very poor experience given the reputation of the bar.
