For the atmosphere when you walk in to the delicious desserts that linger on your tastebuds when you leave; Jovanina’s is a place you must try. Great wine selection, I had the 2017 La Spinosa Montepulciano which paired quite well the smoked bone marrow appetizer and the Elk Bolognese Entree. The Bolognese itself deserves its own review, not describing the unique flavors the recipe provides that produce an unforgettable taste would simply be a crime to the dish. Best Bolognese I have yet to experience. Lastly the Olive Oil Cake was different than most I’ve had but still left me questioning reality as the amazing combination of both flavors and textures rocked my world. The Matcha Clusters in this dessert… genius! You can tell a lot of effort and passion has went into this menu, the recipes, and the experience they provide here. Excellent job 👏

Absolutely amazing!! We were celebrating a College Graduate and the attention to detail and service provided by the staff were unmatched. The food was delicious, arrived hot and on time. Recommend Jovanina’s to everyone.

Given the high price the food was pretty mediocre. The octopus was excellent but the lobster pasta dish had very little flavor. The "vodka sauce" had no spice or really flavor of any kind. Three of us are our table ordered it and the amount of lobster in each dish varied tremendously.

My favorite dining experience in Denver! Our amazing server Hannah guided us to the most amazing food and dessert! The vibe of the restaurant with the lit candles and exposed brick added to the experience. The wood fired pizza cooked to perfection and the homemade pasta with lobster had the perfect spice level. Highly recommend this spot!

Overrated honestly. Was expecting great food. The presentation is amazing and it looks like it’ll be mouthwatering good but the Elk bolognese was very underwhelming. The margarita pizza also had great presentation but was extremely salty with too many parm crisps. Great service though and great ambiance just not great food and way way overpriced.

The service for a glass of wine was incredibly slow and the meal (Pesto) I was serviced was good, but came lukewarm. It tasted like it had been sitting on the counter for a while. The pesto was dried to the pasta that was on the top of the plate.

For the price, the food was underwhelming. The pasta was sticky and the flavor lacking. Chicken was good but for $50, there were very few mushrooms or any other side but a spoonful of riccotta.

Great meal! Roasted Bone Marrow was rich and delectable. Fried Green Tomato Caprese salad great twist on a classic. Snap pea salad was quite good. Worthy of a double order! Elk Bolognese and the Pesto Pasta were delicious and the pasta perfectly cooked.

We were able to eat in Sotto Voce. The room was very cool. The truffle chicken was incredible. Our server was everything we could have asked for in terms of recommendations and all parts of the meal. Sommelier had a spot on choice for the chicken and elk. Will be back hopefully soon!

We enjoyed an excellent meal before heading to the theater at the DCPA. The starter olives and burrata were very tasty. Two of us had the elk bolognese, one had the shrimp past and another had the persto. All were exceptional. Service was attentive and helpful. We all highly recommend Jovanina’s.

Food was good. Unless you’re looking for a very romantic, dark, loud and crowded table area, eat upstairs. The waiter stood between us and the table next to us and his butt was literally ON our table. Gross! Not going back there.

My first visit to Jovanina's was spectacular. The service was warm and inviting, especially the manager Charlie who made sure to say hello and give expertise. When asking for suggestions on what to get to eat or to drink, it was welcomed and did not disappoint at all. The atmosphere is excellent for taking friends out and/or a date spot. This is one of the best dining experiences in Denver I have ever had. Highly recommend.

My wife and I had a date night at JBI. The service was great. The good: Our waitress was knowledgeable and friendly! We felt valued although service towards the end of the meal got noticeably slower. But, one of my personal standards is whether my water glass remained full without me asking, and they excelled on that! As Expected: The ambience was fun and enjoyable. We had a good time. The food was mixed; the focaccia appetizer was excellent. Flavorful! I had the scallops and my wife had the pesto pasta. Both were presented well and we thought they were good, but not outstanding; certainly less than prior reviews had expanded upon. Annoyance: Please please please do not add a mandatory service charge for the backend staff for a “living wage” The owner should figure out a way to pay a living wage to its staff, if that’s what they want. What this communicated is that out of my $170 meal (only 1 glass of wine between us), the owner was incapable of figuring out a way to pay staff appropriately, and declared that to his/her customers. Stop this practice!

I’ve heard great things about this restaurant, but I had never been. The delicious food and wonderful service exceeded my expectations! The Lobster Diavolo was divine. The sommelier recommended a terrific bottle of wine. It is worth every penny!

Terrific experience! Sat in the lower level and experienced more of a romantic setting. My husband and I don't drink alcohol and brought in our own bottle of non-alcoholic wine to learn that they don't allow this service. BUT, as an alternative, it was incredible that they offered delicious non-alcoholic drinks! We had their scratch focaccia, fried tomato caprese, homemade pasta, and cannoli, and EVERYTHING was incredible! They have a fantastic modern twist to each traditional dish, and they nailed it! We will be back!

I would not say the loud noise level was energetic by any means. There were so many people in the basement dining area talking over each other, my wife and I could not hold a conversation. An option of sitting upstairs, which was vacant, would have been nice. I was encouraged to try the Bolognese, which I did. There was a very light sauce on the very thick chewy pasta. The wine by the glass options were terrible. I have a better selection at home.

Unusual old world wine cellar decor harkened to Europe. The wait staff was efficient and enthusiastic. We happily ate dishes not often offered- charred Caesar, burrata, tender lamb shank. While not hot enough, the food was very good. Sadly, the noise level and close proximity of tables created a cacophony of sound, making it very difficult to hear staff and my fellow guest. Based on those only one of us wants to return.

I always have the most amazing time at Jovaninas. The service is amazing and I bring all my friends that visit the city here to experience it! I’ve never had a disappointing night. The food is amazing as well and the service is outstanding.

I’ve never been more excited to be in a food coma in my life. Food: out of this world. Service: top tier. Literally everything on their menu looks equally as delicious as the last item. We ordered the house made foccacia, the carrots, and split the elk bolognese and a specialty pizza they had off menu. I can’t even pick a favorite! We, of course, rounded off the meal with a limoncello shot in true Italian fashion. I can’t recommend this place enough and we are very happy to have leftovers today.

The "Broken" portion of their name should be underscored. Unfortunately, both the food and service were horrendous. I will start with the service, because the multiple oversights by our waiter caused many of the problems. Our waiter simply could not remember anything we ordered and had to return to our table after every instance to verify. Just admit you can't remember anything and use a pen and paper. He forgot the wine we ordered and the appetizer. It took him over five minutes to realize he forgot because that's when he returned to the table to verify. Then another ten minutes for the sommelier to "find" the bottle and present it. The food, as a general statement was missing salt big time. The focaccia had too much fennel and it was overpowering (and we enjoy fennel), and the accompanying ricotta was flavorless. The mostardo tasted like crushed frozen berries and added nothing to the appetizer. We ordered the beet salad and half the beets were tender and the other half practically raw. Again, the feta ricotta needed salt. Our waiter then forgot one of our mains and it's obvious he just put in the ticket after the first one arrived. So the first main, the lamb shank risotto special, was cold when mine arrived. Our waiter offered to put the lamb under the heat lamp, which was hilarious and obviously not the correct way to remedy the issue. The pesto pasta finally arrived and, once again, needed salt, and the only discernable flavor was an overt "green" note--there were no other sauce flavors present. I had two bites and could not eat any more. If you could convert the smell of freshly mowed grass into a taste, this pasta was it. I requested a new meal, the elk Bolognese, which took another ~12 minutes and was the GUMMIEST pasta I've ever had. Hard in the middle and a gummy exterior that just stuck to your teeth. I will say, the sauce was pretty good. Disappointing all-around, though. The kitchen needs to taste while they're cooking. We obviously won't be back.

Jovanina's is our favorite Italian restaurant. The service is always great, the servers and runners are always looking to take care of their customers from recommending dishes or wine, to just a few minutes of friendly conversation. The building itself has quite a history and that makes the ambiance fun.

Sat downstairs. Their two tops are right on top of each other downstairs. We were jammed between two other tables, even though there were multiple tables around there open. Hate that. The girls next to us were extremely loud. I was basically eating with them. The service lacked the attention required for the price level of the restaurant. Waitress forgot to order an entree (which happens) but then lied about it lol. The meal was fine. At the price point, I’m not coming back. Womp.
