This is my 4th time eating at JH, my 2nd time eating inside, and every time it’s been a pleasurable experience. Our server was attentive and made recommendations/modifications for the vegetarian in our group. The food was really good and decent size portions. We had the eggplant dip, beets, and brussel sprouts to start. We were not huge fans of the beets but other dishes were great. I had the red snapper as my entree and it was delicious! I’d like to go back but I think I’d prefer to sit outside (as long as it’s not raining or 100 degrees); inside is very cramped.

We made reservations for 4 pm because the website said that the dinner menu was available from 4-10. We were told after we sat down that dinner menu was changed to 5pm. We decided not to wait and went somewhere else. You would think that a place like this would have their website up to date. Disappointed that we went downtown with high expectations only to find out we were an hour early.

Had a wonderful experience at Josephine House. The lemon ricotta pancakes were great. I just wish they had put the syrup on the side versus pouring it on the pancakes themselves. Reservations are recommended.

One of my favorite places. We sat at a table in the front yard under umbrellas. Quiet setting and delicious food. We loved the pancakes and cinnamon bun.

I’ve been to Josephine house 5+ times. We usually order the crudo and a few things that seem remain on the menu. Overall we love this place, it’s a beautiful spot with great service and quality ingredients. However, this visit really lacked the consistency we usually see. My steak and fries were cold on arrival and the wait time to get our food was about 45min. Our crudo was a much smaller portion of fish with too many peppers and not enough sauce. This experience doesn’t change my opinion or love for Josephine’s house but the lack of consistency was surprising.

We initially had a reservation outside, but the weather wasn’t great this day. The staff was very accommodating and let us sit at the bar instead. The bartender, Miguel, was WONDERFUL. He was engaging, kind, and extremely knowledgeable and helpful. The food was good, as always, but the experience itself was 15/10.

I make it a point to come to Josephine’s for breakfast whenever I come to Austin. I even choose accommodations that are convenient to Josephine’s. This weekend’s trip was not an exception. Best breakfast/buffet in Austin.

Steak was amazing, a juice, thick cut with the salty grilled outside. We also loved their octopus appetizer- it was a little on the spicy side for my husband, but delicious. We also had the chicken that was amazing too! Lots of flavor, moist chicken thighs.

The house is beautiful, as is the surrounding landscaping and aesthetic appeal. The server was ok. The food was only ok. Generic brunch food, nothing too different or spectacular. We had a pastry, toast, eggs, ham, tea, coffee… I was looking forward to the lemon ricotta pancakes. Not sweet enough for pancakes. Their special pastry of the day, brioche lemon curd with strawberries, was a bit dry. And not quite sweet enough. It was just ok, not worth the expense. Feels like Josephine house is more is a place to go for the aesthetics and selfies, less so for the food. Won’t be back. Not at these prices.

Service was excellent! House was adorable! We ate outside, and were glad the hostess moved us, without asking, from the parking lot area to the area near the fire table/chimney. We were surprised, however, that the steak was kind of tough…Definitely expected it to be more tender, especially at that price.

The meat is excellent from someone visiting from California, I don’t like the salad as it was a 1/3 cut of cabbage with dressing on top but the main course was excellent. I would recommend the experience but take your time enjoy every bite, no rush.

Everything was Amazing! Our waitress recommended specials that were spectacular. My wife enjoyed the lemon pancakes and I loved the Huevos Rancheros. Would highly recommend finding the time to try Josephine’s

We waited over an hour for our food to arrive…and were not checked on until over the first 30 min. We got comped for this error…but sitting there for an hour was not fun. But the food was delicious!

Fantastic brunch! Great service and so cozy on a chilly morning (the heat lamp system is very well executed- have no fear of sitting outdoors in any weather)! Make sure to start with a pastry (orange cardamom cake is incredible)!

Beware: The outdoor area was uncomfortably warm even at 11:00 AM. I enjoyed the friendly staff and the food was good. I appreciated the creative approach. The portions were perfect as well.

Excellent service. Food presentation is excellent. I wish there were at least a few vegan options. The cost of trading 1/2 of an avocado with black spots isn’t the same $$ as chicken on my salad.

I celebrated my Birthday and did reservation for 2 pm. Staff doesn’t notify me that kitchen be closed at 2:30 and by time I want to order desert, kitchen has been already closed. I was very upset
