My server was very kind and attentive. I ordered a bone in ribeye - medium rare, and a loaded baked potato but when it was served, the potato was room temp to cold, and the steak was overcooked on the outside and much too rare on the inside, and also felt room temp. I can typically eat rare steaks but the overall dish felt cold, almost as if my order either sat too long before serving or the food was not properly handled in the kitchen, and for those reasons my meal was too unappetizing for me to try and get past the issues and just eat what I was served - which I tend to do most of the time when I experience issues like this when dining out. However, the server was very understanding and he also agreed the steak looked too rare, and sent it back. A floor manager then came to the table with the recooked steak and a new baked potato so all was much better. I do love their house salad and croissants, and their cocktails are great. The hosts were professional and friendly, the floor manager was helpful, and again, my server was kind and attentive. The restaurant is clean, glassware appeared clean, but the silverware, although not dirty, looked cloudy and stained. The steak knives looked and felt worn out, the wood on the handles are faded, dull, and the finish is rough to the touch. I also noticed the signature awning outside over the front entrance of the restaurant looks like it needs to retire with a replacement because it’s pretty faded and worn looking, too, but the doors and windows were very clean, showing no signs of old smudges or smears.

We’ve been going to Joey D’s for 30 years and can always count on a good experience. Not this time! We took friends who had never been to the restaurant. Salmon was ordered lightly cooked and it was not only lightly cooked it was dry and overcooked. We had it replaced. It took a while and the replacement came back barely better. The GM offered us dessert and also compete the dinner, appropriately so. More troublesome was the terrible service outside on the patio. Every time we asked the waiter for something, it took forever and he was walking around as if sleepwalking. The experience was nothing like we had EVER had before at one of our “go-to” restaurants. We will of course go back as any restaurant can have a bad night. Nevertheless, bringing friends for their first visit in our recommendation, this was embarrassing.

Was a great experience was greeted at the door did have a reservation was immediately sat. Had some wonderful food and cocktails. Great to catch up with a friend I hadn’t seen in 20 years.

I eat out a lot. And as a first-timer at Joey D's, I could not have been more impressed. Hostess/seating staff, servers, food quality were all superb. Kudos to David who so skillfully and professionally guided me through the process. I will be back soon!
