Wow - everything about this experience was just above and beyond outstanding. The staff, the food, the decor, the service - 10 stars across the board. They had a special Mother’s Day menu featuring 5 courses. This was quite the deal and all for $50. Our waiter Andy really made this visit so much more enjoyable for our dinner party who had never had K BBQ before. He did a great job at explaining the details of everything and was super attentive. The cocktails were well made, the side dishes were enough for us to share with 3 people. If you are looking for THE Korean BBQ place to dine at - look no further. You need to experience JOA.

Poor service but food was good. We had 6 guests with 2 grills. Only one server was cooking so meat on one size keep got burnt.

They first sat us somewhere only 4 people could fit comfortably, requested to move and they obliged. Other then that the food was great and I’m definitely returning when I’m back in Dallas

This place has a great atmosphere! It's easy to lose track of time and think it's dark outside, when it isn't. Nice decor and overall vibe. Great for pics and special occasions. Service was friendly and helpful. Food was good. No major complaints. We ordered the beef tebokki and the Mountain bulgogi hot pot. Beef was tender and good quality. Loved finding hidden rice cakes in the broth and broth was flavorful. Overall, it was a pretty good experience. Not the easiest on the pocketbook though. Was it worth it?.... maybe... I'll leave it at that. Im torn between saying you get what you pay for and it was slightly overpriced. But I've been to many K-BBQ places (mostly buffet style) and the quality of meat here for sure beats the other places. Although you also trade off the amount of sides you can eat, sauces you can create, etc. It's up to you whether you'd rather have great quality meat or able to get up and load up on various soups and sides without limit, but have lower quality meat and mediocre service. Now the minor gripes which make it 4 vs 5 star: It was slow, so all the wait staff hang out in this one spot which is visible to customers and kind of in the way of getting to the bathroom. This detracted from the experience as this is all we had to stare at. A bunch of employees standing around talking, until they had something to do. Would be better for atmosphere if they could do that away from the main dining room, maybe in the back, out of sight. One cocktail I ordered didn't qualify for the happy hour, but I wasn't informed. The Dallas Gentlemen? Would've been nice to know, I wouldn't have ordered it. Also, my fiance's cocktail wasn't tasty. Meaning, it wasn't sweet and therefore didn't taste good to someone who isn't accostomed to a strong taste of bitter alcohol. At first I thought she was just being picky, as she doesn't drink much, but after tasting it I completely agreed. It did not taste good. I drank it anyway as I didn't want to waste money.

I took my teenage daughters to this restaurant as a fun new place to try. We had seen it on instagram and it looked like a fun experience. Our waiter, Joseph, was outstanding. He came over and actually seasoned and cooked our food for us!! He explained everything on the menu and gave great recommendations. He was busy but never flustered. He really made the experience top notch!! We’ll definitely go again!! ❤️

Had family birthday event here. We tried a lot of the starters and opted for 3 sets of the Taste of Texan, and 3 sets of pork belly for our group of 13. First, the starters, the fried mandu dumplings, it was maybe to bland with chives and pork even with the accompanying sauce, I would not order again. Shrimp pancake was not was I expected for a Korean pancake, it's more shrimp egg omelette than pancake - very tasty would order again. Fried beef ribs is great but the 6 bite size portions were tiny. Must order the beef tukbokki, deep flavorful and though very pricey the oysters (half dozen) were delicious. To accompany our grilled meats, we had the corn cheese, brussel sprouts, and egg fried rice all delicious. Now to the meats, though you have the traditional banchan of 4 sides, it was still lacking as well as the 3 seasoning/sauces with your meats. The meats were definitely steakhouse quality however except for the bulgogi it overall lacked seasoning and that smokey char you find at other traditional Korean bbq places. Everything is grilled over an induction heat grill by your server and they were very attentive. Recommend for their service and food selection.

The food was delicious and service was very good. The only issue was that our server did not speak English well nor understood us. However, she did have another server assist us. The staff overall was extremely helpful and went above and beyond to assist us. Ii would highly recommend this restaurant and I am sure we will return.

Our 1st time there. We initially had reservations for 2 and had to bring our kids due to cancelation of our sitter. I called and had no problem changing our reservation to 4 people. The atmosphere was very nice and the owner greeted us when we were there.. I was actually surprised that he remembered my name through the night. He checked on us multiple times and everyone was very pleasant. We will be coming back and referring all our friends to go to this establishment.

This was our second KBBQ experience with our first being on a cruise ship. The waiter Yazan was patient, helpful, and super pleasant! He helped explain the menu, recommended a popular Soju to try, and made sure to check in with us often! We chose the Taste of JOA and ordered a few sides just to try a lot of food and when I say the Taste of JOA was a large mean all on its own it would be an understatement. Overall the experience, from the food, our server Yazan, and even the music were such a great time!

The price. For a two people is $99. That’s very over price only reason I did it is because I don’t go out much but the price is very high. Most people came and and walk away. Prices are very high

Overall, very good experience! Only thing to nitpick is that they don’t give out their soybean soup/egg soufflé with the meats anymore. You have to order the combo in order to get them now, apparently. But it wasn’t like that the last time I dined in so it was a little disappointing. Hopefully they bring it back.. sad face.

Great experience! I saw this place on IG and decided to check it out for a date night. Service was great! We did the $100 meal which came with four types of red meat and shrimp, rice, soup and condiments. The food was delicious and we were very full by the end! The environment is perfect for a cute little date night. Definitely recommend!

Great experience, delicious cuisine. Loved being able to cook your own food and lots of options to do and cook as you please. Just let the waiter know you wanna cook instead of him all up in your grill. Hahah just tell him I wanna cook it.

Let me start with the food is absolutely delicious. The tableside chef cooked everything to perfection and the cuts of meat are high quality with good marbling. With that being said I personally had a few cons. 1. portions could be larger for the price. My group of 4 chose the Texan special that feeds 4 for $200. While I didn't leave hungry, I never hit that content feeling. (29m, 170lbs) 2. I expected a more tradional social experience where my group is cooking the food ourselves. Not holding that against the restaurant though because I should have verified beforehand and once again the chef cooked everything perfectly. 3. You will be pressured into getting "the joa" if you have a party of 2, or "the Texan" if you have a party of 4. I'm assuming this is because it is their specialty dish but no mains were recommended when asked other than those 2 options. TLDR: Food is fantastic just pricey for the portions received.

The place and people are very nice.. I just feel that it was very expensive for unseasoned meats that we had to cook ourselves.. Typically the price points are lower for K Bbq and theres usually some type of flavor.
