JJ’s Restaurant is a Vancouver institution. Both the kitchen and front of house are run by students who are in their 2nd level of cook training. Enjoy a three-course a la carte lunch which is reasonably priced and produced with the highest level of passion and care by students with the guidance of their Chef Instructors. If you are interested in a group booking please email culinaryarts@vcc.ca.

Please note that JJ’s and Chef’s Table service may be interrupted by inclement weather, including extreme heat or significant snowfalls. VCC makes this precaution to keep the staff and customers safe. Thank you in advance for your understanding.

The Chef's Table dinners, are one of Vancouver's best-kept secrets! Enjoy a gourmet five-course meal designed by Chef Hamid Salimian with optional selected wine pairings, served in a unique group setting with only 10 seats available per night. The Chef's Table dinners are run by students, led by award winning instructors in Vancouver Community College's International Culinary Arts Program. Thank you for supporting VCC students-gratuities help the VCC Foundation create awards and bursaries. Dietary restrictions and preferences may be accommodated with at least 24 hrs notice. Please direct requests to culinaryarts@vcc.ca. Please note that Chef’s Table service may be interrupted by extreme heat. Thank you in advance for your understanding.

Great service. Wonderful food - done to perfection. Our group of six had the rack of lamb or the steelhead trout. Both were cooked perfectly and were very flavourful. The shrimp/scallop appetizer was amazing. For dessert, we had the lemon tart, cheesecake and the ganache. All were enjoyed immensely. The food, service and ambience were so superb that we’ve planned to come back to try the other entrees.

From the moment we stepped into JJ’s Fine Dining, the Culinary Arts Instructor, Mr. Denis Liew was most personable and attentive.(this was noted for each guest) Lunch started with Appetizers from the Chefs…an endive filled with delicate tastes. We started with Boston Clam Chowder to die for! I indulged in delicate spare ribs… The Main Entre was Pork Wellington made to perfection….with a variety of Veggies. We treated ourselves to Virgin Pina Colada’s… The Desserts consisted of Ganache, Lemon Tart and as it was my 76th Birthday 🎂, a Special Dessert was prepared with a Candle and a Sing-a-long! A truly Magical and Forever Cherished Birthday. Thank You to All the VCC Culinary Arts Students, Chefs, and Mr. Denis Liew, for his experience and expertise in foreseeing the whole successful outcome !

This was an amazing experience for my wife and I! The student team at VCC under the guidance of an experienced chef served an amazing 5 course meal, we would recommend this to anyone looking to try something new!

It was an amazing experience. The servers were attentive and the ones plating was also fantastic. Each plate was a visual masterpiece and some of the plates were very fun!

We were extremely pleased and happy for the service and the food. We are hoping to go back for either lunch or dinner and would highly recommend this restaurants to friends and family

I really appreciate the limited numbers of reservation so that the student chefs and servers are able to handle the customers with ease. The food was excellent in taste and presentation. One must remember that these are students learning and one must be prepared to spend a bit more time to be able to enjoy the full experience. Highly recommended.

They served great dishes. I used this restaurant to celebrate my friend's couple wedding anniversary, and we had a beautiful dessert plate with a message. We all certified their services and food.
