the food was good. The pita appetizer with hummus was delicious! The best pita I have had! The pita tasted seasoned and grilled and the humus was creamy and tasty but not too garlicy ! My husband got a lamb type of casserole. He said it was tasty, however the portion was not that big. Our beautiful Brazilian server was quick and warm and friendly! We had the most wonderful conversations with her! Love her and hope she succeeds in all her adventures! Our two only suggestions-update the sitting area and offer something warm and decaffeinated at night (no decaf coffee or tea)

The food was okay - I would not recommend the fish. Tables were too close together. We asked for a table that wasn't in such a crowded area, but was told it was reserved for larger parties - shortly thereafter a party of 3 was seated there.

This was our first time at Jimmy’s Taverna. It was a lovely experience. The staff was so nice. The food was amazing. The drinks were so so good!!! We will definitely be returning.

Overall food was good but very skimpy. 2 small pieces of spanakopita for $12 and a tiny portion of pita and hummus for the same. Also a very pushy sommelier. Great wine list but wasn't happy that we only ordered glasses, not a bottle.

Can’t believe this restaurant is about to close because it was bought by a bigger company. I’ll miss the good vibe of this “small business”. Besides, the food and drinks are outstanding and the staff is extremely kind!!

Jimmy’s Taverna is not what it used to be, due to the sale of the business by the owner. The ambiance has completely disappeared (we walked in last night, and the lights were on way too bright. I thought it was for a cleaning crew! Seriously! And at the once-busy bar, it was completely empty, except for a stack of dirty dishes that a waiter apparently left there, and no one in management thought it might be prudent to bus them entirely!) The food was decent, but since we had been patronizing this restaurant for the past 9 years, it was not what it once was! Such a shame. Another casualty of the pandemic.

Luis took excellent care of us. The chicken was great, the lavender crème brûlée needs more lavender flavor. The table spacing was comfortable, felt like we had privacy.

The best restaurant in Mammoth! We have been eating here for years and it never disappoints. We always have the family favorite, flaming cheese and the delicious dips with warm pita for starters. All of the fish entrees are delicious and the lamb is always cooked to perfection. In addition, they have an incredibly knowledgeable sommelier Chip, who not only can recommend the perfect wine to suit your taste but is also a warm and gracious host. This place is must whenever you’re in Mammoth.

We had THE BEST experience for New Year’s Eve! The restaurant is beautiful, and the food was delicious! We shared everything so we tasted many itEms on the menu. All were fabulous! The wine list was extensive and the sommelier was very knowledgeable! Would definitely go back!

Service was excellent and very welcoming and the champagne on NY eve was a very lovely touch. Food was very good except the greens on the salad was wilted and seemed not to be very fresh. Loved the 3 taster of Dips and the scallops with was done very nicely.

Cocktails were very good. House white was very good as well. Beef Fillet was cooked perfectly Sea bass presentation was excellent, could have been seasoned a bit stronger. Overall recommend and will go again

It’s tempting to ascribe the downfall from our prior great experience two years ago to this evening to Covid-induced supply chain issues but I don’t think that captures the changes that we saw. The pita-based appetizer was the highlight of the meal and the rest was just sort of uninspired. Service was spotty other than attentive water service. Out of beer ( of literally any kind) is okay? Not at this price. I hope they can recapture the style they had some time ago but for now I would, regrettably, not return.

Service was excellent! That goes a long way! Ambiance was great such a cute place! Got the appetizer of the different dips and highly recommend the feta. Dinner was just average, slightly below. But I would definitely come back just order differently.

I was so disappointed with my experience at Jimmy's Taverna that I would give it zero stars if I could. I had made reservations there for a birthday celebration, and from the moment we walked in we were greeted with attitude from the bartender, who was not wearing a mask even though there were signs indicating that masks are required there. (When I stated that we had a reservation, his response was "Oh how nice for you." Not sure what we might have done to warrant this kind of treatment.) We were denied a special request related to our meal by the chef, and it seemed that almost as if to punish us, our food was left under the heating lamp for quite some time, drying it out and making it barely inedible. The service was indifferent at best, and at one point we were ready to walk out as it didn't seem to matter to the staff whether or not we stayed. Later that evening, two of the three people in our party were sick to our stomach from the meal. I will never dine here again, and hope that others will heed my advice-- with all of the wonderful restaurants at Mammoth, I suggest looking into a place that values its customers and serves food that you can actually enjoy.

Love the casual vibe. Food was delicious, she had the Thanksgiving dinner, I had sea bass. Wine was amazing and the sommelier was extremely helpful in steering us towards some amazing wines at excellent value. Great overall experience.

Upon arriving after making a reservation, the waiter told me I could pick any seat. I wanted to pick a table that seats four near the window for my wife and I, but he told me those were for other reservations that have 4 people. We ended up seated at a two-seater in the corner of the restaurant. About 15 minutes later, more parties of 2 people got to sit at the seats we want to sit at. We ordered a Greek salad and dip sampler. Both were fine. We then ordered the octopus salad and sea bass. Both highly disappointing. The octopus seemed over cooked and it’s texture seemed off. Also the greens it was plated with was extremely greasy. The sea bass didn’t taste like it was cleaned or seasoned before being cooked, so tasted extremely fishy. It didn’t help that the veggies topped on the fish was also very greasy and didn’t go well with the side of rice and greens. Felt gross after eating the dishes, and couldn’t even finish either. Just an overall disappointing experience overall- food and service wise. Also fyi, not all the employees there wear masks.

We can’t say enough about this wonderful Mediterranean inspired restaurant!! The staff is amazing and attentive, and a special shout out to the sommelier, Chip who can always pick out a delicious bottle of wine (their wine list is fabulous). The food is superb and the ambiance is lovely. We’re so happy they’ve been able to stay open during the pandemic and will continue to frequent the establishment often!

Great spot! Luis took great care of us and was very knowledgeable about the menu. The burrata tomatoes were crisp and cold, cheese was perfect. Only had one cocktail but damn was it good, tequila base and yes, I will take another. Chip handled the wine, that gentlemen knew what we needed and wanted. Turns out hes a San Diego native, what a delight. Main course: Filet Mignon, Oscar style w/ a creole sauce…..oh with mashed potatoes & asparagus. Well done, and yes I will be back 🙌🏼
