The tasting menu and wine pairings were nothing short of amazing. Really enjoyed the food and enjoyed the service and hospitality even more. Everyone was so helpful and nice.

Modernist Korean-style restaurant. Service was impeccable. We were on an assignment from UChicago and requested any leftover bones they had to study them, and they gave us eight fish clavicles! A very unusual request which they worked hard to fulfill. My thanks!

Amazing. Amazing. Amazing. Jeong is taking its menu back to the beginning in 2024 now that it's reached it's 5 year anniversary. I've eaten at Jeong many many times (because it's one of the absolute best restaurants in Chicago and the folks are so dadgum nice). It was a great reminder of how much i loved the many great dishes that have come out of Dave Park's kitchen. The starting dishes -- kanpachi (my favorite fish) and shrimp -- are so fresh and flavorful with just the right balance of acid and crunch. The middle dishes -- salmon tartare and seared scallop -- are amongst Chicago's Hall of Fame dishes. The savories end with two highlights: 1) SPICY RICE CAKES ARE BACK! and 2) the Australian wagyu is IMHO the best meat protein Jeong has offered. That's all a terrific set-up for the best desserts in Chicago: first is a "transition pre-dessert"(yogurt; buckwheat; granita) is as good as any dish in town. It's incredible. The Hi-Chew dessert will live in Chicago folklore. It's stunning. I've never heard so many vocal "Yums" at the table. Get this one before Jeong retires it (i have no idea if they will retire it...just saying).

Scallops are crispy and salty and warm and not rubbery. The tartar is my favorite along with the hamachi. They put this spicy siracha sauce on it. It’s fire. Just know it’s raw fish but it doesn’t necessarily taste like fish. TheAustralian wagyu is crusty on the outside and so soft and tender on the inside. 11/10 Mochi fizzes in your mouth that was cool. Not a big fan of tasting menus. this one is pretty good nonetheless. Service is super friendly. To me is refreshing not seeing any sad faces.

Jeong is a true gem of a restaurant! Jen and Dave have created one of the best restaurants in the city of Chicago. Everyone on their team is incredibly genuine and hospitable! Every dish in the tasting menu is complex and full of flavor. I look forward to returning over and over again!

3 things make this place so special… 1) The food and drinks are just outstanding. Beautifully crafted, thoughtful and absolutely delicious. The menu changes over time and the dishes continue to surprise and delight. 2) The ambiance is so tranquil yet comfortable…you can really relax and enjoy yourself. It’s not overly crowded with tables and it’s quiet so you can hear each other over dinner. 3) The staff is so friendly and the service is exemplary. You’re never sitting waiting for a drink, or a check, or the next course, it’s done perfectly. And everyone there is incredibly friendly. One of Chicagos best kept secrets…I’m sure it won’t stay a secret for long.

It’s better than ever. Service. Food. The tasting is a bargain in the city. Wines special. Love the candles too. But at our table we could hardly see the food. A little more light. Maybe. Couldn’t take my insta photo of the beautiful plating. Run don’t walk.

The food at Jeong is simply excellent. Traditional Korean ingredients and flavors presented in modern dishes. Each plate is a work of art with a range of flavors, aromas, and textures. The specialty cocktails are unique and delicious, developed by the chef himself. The wine list is not huge, but well done. The service is great—a friendly staff that sets a nice pace. The overall ambience and background music are very nice, but I have one complaint: as the sun goes down, the restaurant becomes too dark to see the beautifully plated food. This is an all-too-common problem in high-end restaurants. A huge amount of effort goes into developing and plating each dish beautifully, then they come out in the dark and you can't see them. If they were serving burgers and fries, who cares, but, as the old saying goes, you eat first with your eyes, and the darkness here denies you that first visual bite. We won't let that keep us away from this overall wonderful place (maybe in the summer when daylight goes late), but we will hope that it gets corrected one day.

I've walked past this place for ages and never knew it was there. The space is lovely inside with just a handful of tables, low lighting, and beautiful flower arrangements. Service was wonderful and the food was amazing. Favorites were the salmon tartare and scallop! Would (and already have) absolutely recommend.

I had not been back to Jeong in some time so was looking very much forward to this return visit. It surpassed my expectations - the ambiance, service, and food and drink were superb. We appreciated the substitutions made to two dishes for my partner who has a fin fish allergy. They were thoughtful and so tasty. Everything we had that night was exceptional - and the wine pairing truly excellent. Thank you for a wonderful experience.

Wonderful fine dining experience that was also comfortable and down to earth. Everything was meticulously prepared and service was excellent as well—just the right amount of attention. I loved the take on Korean food and especially enjoyed the play on textures with the arare, barley, etc.

This is my tenth time dining at Jeong and it never disappoints! Chef Dave is such an outstanding chef, the food is always perfectly executed and consistent. Service is always phenomenal. 10/10 I don’t dine out much anymore but when I do, I come to Jeong.

In my opinion, Jeong is one of Chicago's best restaurants (and has been for five years). I guess I'm not alone in that opinion, as Jeong is once again up for the Jean Banchet Restaurant of the Year award for 2023. I sure hope they get the recognition they so richly deserve. Chef Dave is a phenom at infusing Korean soul into his fine dining technique. His tasting menu does it all -- the best salmon tartare i've ever tasted; the best scallop i've ever had; on and on. Have you ever been blown away by the "transition" dish between the savory courses and the finishing desserts? Get ready to be. Jeong is that good.
